Heinz Nurseries is located in an easy-to-get-to location near the intersection of Thomasville and Bradfordville Roads in the Killearn area of Tallahassee. In a beautiful setting of woods, a large fish pond and pasture land, the nursery comprises about 6 acres of garden products. There is easy access to all products and plenty of parking.

The Heinz team has recently performed a considerable amount of work at my home - retaining walls, fenced area enclosure entrances, masonry and stone porch, etc. Their pricing was very competitive, more so than the other well known competitors. Communications and coordinations with Heinz was easy and professional. The installation teams were on time, worked hard, and considerate of my property. All in all we’re extremely pleased with the complete experience.

Update: 2 months later more glass every time it rains. NOT HAPPY !
***Caution ***Ordered Heinz gardening mix along with topsoil now every time it rains more and more broken glass is exposed in the mix .I called and informed Heinz about the problem and was told it normally doesn’t happen. Well it happened to me and I’m not happy and I would not suggest to use Heinz topsoil or Heinz mix. If you have kids or pets like we do you definitely do want not want broken glass around your property
Very very unhappy to say the least and just telling us sorry does not cut it hopefully others can avoid

Have had 3 bad experiences in a row....3 strikes you are out.
1. came there to get gravel...paid at the counter then sat by the pile for over 20 minutes. We were the only customers there. The guy said he had no idea we were there he just 'happened' to see the truck parked by the gravel....
2. Called on a Saturday for sod. Was told they were out but would have a truck on "Tuesday'. Called Monday and was told...it is sold out, you have to pre order....which Saturday's call did not inform
3. Ordered sod on Monday for 'friday'. Was required to prepay. Went to pick up Friday..sold out....sod was

Customer service pledge is a farce. Tried to give a local nursery business and on two separate occasions, provided contact info and staff indicates they will call and never do. When I take the initiative to follow up, the response is “well sometime messages do not reach the admin office.” Beth (admin office) was a very snide and unapologetic for their poor service, but I guess that is indicative poor communication/process. Apparently, this nursery has all the business they need. I would not buy from this place if it was the last provider in Tallahassee. Terrible.

I've been burned multiple times by this company. I can only speak regarding the lawn maintenance but both the "work" done and the customer service leave a lot to be desired. They will ruin your yard and then have a receptionist somehow insult you and blame you at the same time. Finally, you will give up and call a real lawn maintenance company after promises of call backs and further inspection which never occur.

Heinz Nursery is the best. We went and picked out our tree and shrubs and they were able to recommend the best time of year to plant them. They came out two different times to put the tree in and then the 30 bushes. An incredible quality of plants and great service. Thanks Bert for all you did for us!!

We ordered a pallet of Saint Augustine grass from Heinz Nurseries and it was absolutely the most beautiful sod you have ever seen. There was not a brown spot or torn sod in the whole pallet. Once again the service we have come to expect from Heinz Nurseries.
Highly recommend them for the “do it yourself” gardener. Staff is highly professional and knowledgeable about their products and what works best for your landscaping jobs.

Bert and his crew have installed several successful projects for us: front foundation removals and planting, a garden terrace wall, digging a rain garden, a grape arbor and most recently, a stand of bamboo by the pool to create a privacy screen and a stone drainage swale for heat pump runoff.
Bert, the landscape architect, has good design sense and works with me to achieve the look I’m going for in my mostly native and unorthodox garden. The crew is fast, efficient and pleasant. The price is always reasonable and is a good value for what we get.

I’ve gotten St Aug sod from Heinz Nurseries twice this summer. Both times, it was the most beautiful, green, fresh and thick did I’ve ever seen. The first time I had it delivered to my clients residence. It was right on time! Today, I called and asked if they had 60 pieces. They offered a half pallet at a comparable price, which I appreciated, but… I really only needed that amount. It was loaded onto my truck and trailer by two helpful men. I was impressed with the rest of the staff as well. The grounds were beautiful. I will always go to Heinz Nurseries for all my sod needs

This Mother's Day reminds me of my awful experience with Heinz Nursery. Last year my family took me shopping to Heinz Nursery so that I could pick out a tree for my Mother's Day gift. With the help from their employee we purchased a tree and we followed all the planting and watering instructions he gave us. Sadly, the tree died. I called the… nursery several times and told them about the condition of the tree and asked for a refund, stating that I was told by their employee who sold me the tree that the nursery offered a year warranty on all the trees. Same thing happened to me today I paid for a pallet yesterday spent all morning borrowing a trailer which had to be cleaned out etc etc and when I get there they had sold my pallet even after I paid I full yesterday! Straight up greed all Susan would do is say sorry. No telling how much money I have spent there over the years 🤔

Excellent team! Bert planned the amazing transformation of our back yard to address drainage concerns and erosion.
