I complained about an issue. Joe, the owner quickly reached out to me. He listened, understood and promised to make everything right.
This is by far the BEST experience I've ever had with a sweep. They were prompt at 9:00, worked cleanly and quickly. We watched the creosote and residue and ash being brushed out of the flue,
Fernando Is Amazing as he cleaned he informed us on maintenance and issues to watch for. He has incredible balance and reach. A wealth of information !
Joe was true to his word and charged me a super reasonable price...I'll never call any body else.

I hired Victorian Chimney to rebuild two Chimney's on my house that were in bad repair. From start to finish they were a delight to work with; Joe kept me posted close to every day regarding the job and work to be done. He sent me a clear and concise contract and adhered to it completely. His crew was professional and nice, answering questions that came up. Scheduled chimney sweep for December 9. A guy showed up, looked in the fireplace, suggested we replace the liner, and began to leave, telling me someone would call with an estimate. I asked why he was not going to clean the chimney, and he said he didn't have the tools with him. He said someone would come out on Saturday to clean it. Saturday, no one showed up. Next week I called. They apologized and said someone would be out on December 21 to clean chimney. The day came and went. No show again. Three times scheduled. Three times no chimney sweep.

Victorian Chimney offered a promotional $50 inspection through Hawkins Farmers Market in Kensington, and I took the bait. Jonathan spent less than 5 minutes looking inside the chimney. He claimed it was clean even though I've used it for 4 years w/o getting it cleaned. He didn't inspect the roof or the exterior. When I brought this up with the office they apologized but still charged me. I'd look elsewhere, or at least don't bother w/ any discounted promotions. They seem to just want to make a quick buck.

Here's a 100% truthful chronological report of my experience with Victorian Chimney Service. We needed a chimney cap. They had an ad in a direct mail pack. They offered a $25 off coupon on chimney caps. Their reputation appeared very good so I called them. I mentioned the height of the chimney, discussed price, and set the appointment for 12/2/19 between 10-1. So on that day, unbeknownst to me, the tech parked in our driveway, wrote up an estimate for the same price, and rang my doorbell. Surprised, I was not told it would be for an estimate only. We've used Victorian Chimney twice. Once we we purchased our house and needed the chimney inspected and then repaired and then again for an inspection to see if it needed to be cleaned following a year of heavy use. They did an excellent job with the repair work, left the house and fireplace tidy afterwards, and were easy to work with. A few years later I called them back out to inspect the chimney and do any cleaning/maintenance. The man who came to inspect the chimney was curious (even put on boot covers in our shoe-less home) and told me the chimney was very clean and we should continue

I wish I had contacted Victorian Chimney first. We ended up paying $150 to get an "inspection" of our Chimney done by Bethesda Chimney in the winter, when we first moved into our house. It took Bethesda Chimney a whole 5 minutes to tell us it needed to be relined. Their quote was $5,500. We then called 2 other companies to look for estimates, with Victorian Chimney being one of them. Victorian Chimney was the ONLY company that followed up with me after providing a totally free inspection and quote. We held off on getting the work done until Summer, but Joe, the owner, honored the same

I had them to come out the week of Christmas, and redo my chimney I had to wait 48 hours I waited 72. When I finally lit the chimney the fire only lasted 30 minutes with me constantly watching it and putting fuel on the logs. So I called them to come back out on 1/10/19. I even called to confirm on the 10th they said they would be there. Not only didn't they show they rescheduled for the 11th. I called the office at 8:00 a.m. on the 11th both phones said they were disconnected. I find them to be very unprofessional and would not recommend their service.

Previously used this organization. They were the highest price, but were the quickest option we had.
However since the service 4 years ago, I've been getting calls every 6 months during their slow times to get me to schedule service. I no longer own the home that they serviced.
I've asked no less than three times to be removed from their call list with no luck. Reported them to the FTC. Extremely frustrating.

I recently called Victorian Chimney to weatherproof and seal the part of my chimney above the roof. They discovered that it was in bad need of repair and completely rebuilt it for $2,725. I appreciated the responsive service, the quality of work, and the before and after pictures. I did not shop around, but the price seemed okay to me.

Victorian Chimney just did an excellent job on three condo units in our building. They were on time, communicated well and were highly professional. Their rates were attractive compared to others who bid. When some units were unable to participate on the chosen date, Victorian honored the group discount despite the reduction in the scope of the job. After receiving an estimate for work and scheduling for a specific date, less than an hour before the team was due to arrive at my house, they called and said that they were behind schedule. Okay, being late is understandable. But then the hours dragged on and they decided in the afternoon that they couldn't make it at all. They charge $105 for an evaluation and estimate. On the evening before scheduled work, the owner calls to reschedule for a later time. He is unsure what time his workers will be available, but he will call me first thing the next morning to finalize a time, but he doesn't follow up, and I need to call several times to work out a new appt time.
