J&S did a pretty good job when I hired them. They were able to finish in one day which was awesome and they gave me a very competitive price. However a year later when I was trying to get it sealcoated, two separate seal coaters told me that the paving company did not do a great job with the aggregate. So this caused some problems with the initial seal coat. I would maybe use them in the future but just pay attention to how it is laid down.

The crew at J&S were amazing. Although I sought (3) bids for the full replacement of my driveway and I researched each company, I was still undecided. A trusted neighbor shared their experience with J&S and that was enough to select them for the work. They were not the low bid but trust in my neighbor of 28 years did the trick. J&S held up their end of the contract and beyond. I was immediately struck by the effort their crew put into their work, as if they really cared about doing a good job. We called for a quote and were surprised to find one dropped on our doorstep the very next day. Now, this sounds like amazing service but the weird thing was that no one ever called me back or even knocked on the door. I was at home that day but never heard or saw anyone. They simply came by unannounced and dropped a quote on my door without ever bothering to meet us and ask what we needed. I didn't just need my current driveway redone, I needed it widened. Im a new homeowner and have never had to maintain a driveway before so I really didnt know what I was doing. I got about 10 different quotes and am glad I chose J&S. I had my entire driveway torn out and replaced and added a small addition. They responded quickly and answered all my questions. I had a really good experience with j&s . I received 2 quotes. Damico Paving was a couple hundred dollars less so we picked them. Bad mistake they kept promising to show up to repave our driveway two months later they finally showed up yea...not so fast. They're slick talking salesman Brad informed me I need a new base for an addl $1000 dollars while the trucks and equipment were waiting at the curb to get started. I told Brad to beat it. Scammer Brad could have cared less. I contacted j&s that day. They set up a day and time held to their original quote and did an awesome job..

Needed to have our driveway replaced. J&S gave us a bid promptly. When I went to the village to get a permit, the woman told me they never have any issues with J&S not following the village regulations. The crew was here at 7am. Answered all my questions. The crew did a fantastic job. Driveway looks great and look forward to parking on it for many years.

I had to replace a driveway at a rental property in Elgin, so I got about a half dozen bids and ended up going with J&S. For the record, J&S does asphalt, not concrete, as most companies that do one don't do the other.
