Your new asphalt driveway needs requires 6-12 months to fully harden and cure. Upon installation of your driveway, you can walk on it but keep your car off of it for at least 24 hours days (longer in the summer heat). The asphalt will soften and harden as the temps rise and fall. Using a garden hose to water it down on hot days is helpful but not mandatory.

Guys seem nice enough though when the asphalt started cracking 6 months after they put it down at $19,000, they would never return our calls. When we finally got them out they offered to fix the three worse areas at another $12,000. Every other company we consulted indicated that the foundation must have been at fault or less than ideal. And thus all needs to be removed and started over now just 2 years later. Definitely suppose to last longer than that. We decided to go with a more reputable and honest pavers. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
