We used Mad Hatter when Michael O'Conner ran the business, and later when his son Flynn took over. For the two homes we owned in the Hudson valley, we had yearly chimney cleaning, plus repairs and maintenance of our wood stoves. Over all those 24 years, Mad Hatter was a pleasure to do business with. Appointments were simple, they always showed up on time, and the work was done in a professional manner. Let me start by saying I don't know why the other reviewer had problems, it sounds to me that he has another agenda in mind. Sounds like he wants to promote J&P Chimney and bring down Mad Hatter. I called Mad Hatter on a Saturday left my number and what I wanted. They called me back the next Monday 2 days later. They even called my cell after not reaching me at home as I asked them to do. They came 3 days later and gave me an estimate to replace my furnace pipe. I took a couple of weeks to get other estimates, one of which was from J&P, they were much more expensive. I then called

So how many times should you call a business before you give up? With Mad Hatter it was 3 times for me. I had been seeing thier ads around for awhile and at some point ripped it out of the paper for future reference. I called the first time more than a year ago and never got a call back. I know things get erased by accident so I called again and left another message including that I knew the chimney needed some work and it was more than a cleaning. Silence (que the crickets).
