Wanting to make the beautiful Tahoe Basin his home, Sam brought his considerable talents to the Sierra and created SDC Stone. I worked with them to replace my kitchen countertops. They came out and measured, we picked the new granite, and I got a proposal with all the costs laid out. Everything was fine up till then.
I agreed and asked to be put on the calendar. That was 3 months ago and they have not answered my emails. I've been totally ghosted, totally irresponsible and bad business.
I have reached out and asked if they are still in business, if they are on hold for covid, etc. not a peep of a response. It's insane.

I've never experienced such poor customer service with any business as I did with SDC Stone. The woman we tried working with was unresponsive, would send us inaccurate information, would not reply to emails or answer basic question. When she did answer emails, they didn't make sense (written very poorly and didn't contain information asked about). I can't speak to the actual quality of their work because they were incapable of providing a consistent quote, answering basic logistical questions or sticking to appointment dates. Literally go with anybody else.

Ok, Sam is AWESOME. He just installed new counters in our kitchen, bathroom, and kitchenette. They are gorgeous, he matched the veining on the counter continuing up the backsplash, and ending up fining an extra piece for us to complete an area that was not on the original bid. Fun energetic guy, great work, finished on time. Highly recommend!

Sam took care of my Granite installation up in Kirkwood on very short notice. He arranged to have the slab I had ordered delivered, showed up on time for the template and surprised me with an installation later that week when I happened to be up there. He is

This place is the greatest. Sam and Jenn are so amazing and easy to work with and they have done greatest job. So easy to work with. Respond immediately to all my calls and questions. They have gone over and beyond expectations and I'm so glad I went with them for my counter needs. My kitchen and bathrooms look amazing and I will use them always.

Don't bother. I tried several times to get a kitchen and bathroom counter top done. Not sure if it is Sam's wife or staff but I would call...weeks would go by and then I would get a call from a woman that seemed very confused about who she was calling and what the job was.
I tried to support a local company but gave up.
Found a great fabricator in Reno. If you live in the Bay Area or Sacramento Area, Bedrosian's is a great source for granite and will ship for free any slab you find in either place and ship to Reno for fabrication. There are some great ones there.

The customer service at SDC was terrible. We contacted them to do a small bathroom cabinet job. They told us to come in and pick out a piece of granite. We found a piece we liked and called them back to tell them we were shipping a sink to them. We never heard back from them. In the meantime, the sink was shipped to them. After many phone calls and 4 trips back and forth to their location (25 miles each way) we got our sink back. To this day, we have never seen Sam or received a phone call back. Would never recommend them!!!!!!

Sam is the best! On short notice he came over and fixed a huge scratch on our granite countertop. I don't want to get into what the scratch was from (total user error), but he made the counter look brand new. He also has super reasonable prices, and is a really nice guy. The job was completed very quickly, and the conversation during made my roomie feel at ease after my blunder. Great job Sam!
