Blake Building and Home Improvement, LLC is a licensed building and remodeling company founded by Blake E. Horn, a third generation licensed builder in South East Michigan. In keeping with the tradition quality workmanship in the community, Blake is continuing the family tradition of quality building and remodeling in Ann Arbor, Saline, Ypsilanti, Canton, Plymouth, Westland, and other surrounding Areas of South East Michigan.

Cannot say enough great things about Blake Building Company. Blake and Ed were fantastic from quote to finish. They over-communicate every step of the way, are extremely knowledgeable about the scope of your project, permitting, and stages of your process. Blake and team were courteous of the space, clean up, and always prompt for the days work. They worked extremely fast, and are detailed with every part of the project. I have worked with contractors in the past, and this was by far the best experience i've had, all while making the space look fantastic. I would highly recommend Blake Building

Blake building did a full basement finish for our family. Ed and team were professional, timely, respectful of covid precautions, and we're very responsive and communicative. I have hired and worked with many contractors and Blake building is the best of the best. The work is very well done and the team stayed within the timeline estimated which made it a very peaceful experience.

We hired Blake to finish our basement 2.5 years ago and I can recommend his work with confidence.
Our project was a medium sized project of about 1000-1200 square foot of finished space including a full bathroom, wet bar, entertainment room, extra bedroom, and a home gym. We had a rough idea of our design but had not formally hired a designer or architect. Blake and I worked out all of these details together. I had talked with 3 other companies before settling on Blake. His pricing was fair and competitive…not the cheapest but not the most expensive either.
What Blake gave was a true old fashioned

Ed and Blake renovated my kitchen and replaced the entry level flooring with real hardwood. They did a good job. The timing was longer than anticipated due to supplier delays caused by COVID-19. Once materials were available the job was finished very quickly. My wife and I are very happy with our new kitchen.

Blake and his talented team did a total remodel of our kitchen and we love the result. The team was totally responsive to our needs and showed great patience when we made some changes while the work was ongoing. They got the job done with a high degree of professionalism and continue to support the work. For example, when one of the new appliances proved defective, they came back to install the replacement even though it was the responsibility of the appliance manufacturer and/or retailer to do so. We highly recommend Blake Building for any home construction project and would choose them again

We used Blake Building to renovate an unused section of our basement into a home office and we were very pleased with the Blake Building team! We got a great initial quote and stayed within budget throughout the process. The crew is professional and courteous and provided updates whenever needed. Most importantly, the work is top notch. Blake and his crew put on a new roof for me. They got to it quickly and completed the job in a day. Blake personally stopped out on the job site a couple of times to make sure everything was going smooth. He also communicated with me every step of the way. They also left the property clean, clean, clean. What an awesome job!!! I would highly recommend you for any job.

Blake Building did a beautiful job with the complete renovation of a cramped, old bathroom in our Ann Arbor home. Blake and Ed were extremely responsive and helpful with all our questions and helped us work through the various surprises that come up in this level of complexity work.
