Thermostat for the wall heater. I got in touch with the owner and told him about the problem I was having. He told me what I needed to do to fix. Now it works perfect. Super nice of him to do this at no cost. Many would charge big $ for this easy fix. Very impressed that he knew immediately what the issue was!

Mark and his team where amazing!! Called left VM, 10 minute call back...evaluated the problem during a visit same day, explained the resolution quickly and effectively, then executed the fix in a highly cost effective way with even the part in the truck!! We were glad to find Mark Slattery from SDAir, an HVAC company located in Pacific Beach, after our nightmare with Mauzy Heating and Air regarding our broken HVAC system (see my previous review about Mauzy). We communicated at length with Mark and informed him of the unfair situation Mauzy had placed us in regarding Mauzy's error that caused the warranty of our HVAC system (which was initially installed by Mauzy) to prematurely expire which then prevented us from getting our broken HVAC system repaired under warranty. Mark did an excellent job. He explained what he was going to do, why he was doing it, and what we could expect along with what those next steps would be. This made us feel apart of the repair, made us feel comfortable with his service. Another person had suggested replacing the entire hvac system which would have been a few thousand, but with Mark's knowledge, he reviewed the system, explained what he was going to do and how this would fix it. Mark came out to assess and repair our wall heater (pilot wouldn't light) and said he would need to order a part so would be back the next day depending on when he received the part. He took a part from our heater with him to ensure he ordered the correct replacement part...and then never called or came back despite leaving him numerous vm messages. That was over a month ago. Mark did an excellent job installing my Trane Condenser for my condo today. My 13 year old compressor went out last year and I decided to swap out the entire condenser rather then fixing the faulty part since the price is roughly the same. Mark was able to offer me the best deal in town AND was able to install the very next day! I've spoken with many other HVAC companies but Mark really knew his stuff and took the time to explain everything to me along his diagnosis and installation. His soldering skills are amazing and I am sure my unit will last longer then my last Trane unit.

I've been using Mark Slattery and SDAir for several years now but unfortunately for Mark our relationship has come to an end. If you are reading this, you too, would be wise to look elsewhere for your heating and AC needs.
Mark does good work and he is reasonably priced but he simply cannot be relied upon to turn up on time...if he turns up at all. I know at this time of year he is very busy and I understand that and I can work with that....I'm a reasonable guy. Our repairman, Mike, arrived on time, was very professional, and best of all, used his experience to deduce the problem that dated back 1.5 years ago when the installers left in a drainage plug that they should have removed. Last year, Mark came out to service the air conditioning unit at my work. He was friendly, professional, and got the job done quickly. I started referring his business to my neighboring businesses, I liked him so much. This year I called them, some time in the beginning of October, and Mike came out. Mark fixed my air conditioning system after it went out last month. He arrived within an hour of my phone call and diagnosed the problem within fifteen minutes, then he went to his truck, got his tools, and forty-five minutes later I was basking once again in the comfort of my air conditioned oasis. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS. I'll give you three reasons:

2) They are not bonded. Don't take a chance, if they injure themselves while working on your home, YOU can be sued.

I never write reviews, but i had too. excellent, Excellent, EXCELLENT!! I plan on using them again. I called over two dozen other guys and had a 2-3 day out appointment. I needed it done that day by 3pm. I called Mark at 10:30 am. He was at my house by noon. I gave him a deadline because I had a guest. He was very professional. Explained all pricing. Drove miles to get the part I needed and was able to get the job done. No hidden fees, no up charge for my emergency!!! Prices are competitive. Mike his assistant was very nice too. My A/C was repaired on 4/30/12 by http://SDAir.com. I have a Carrier unit that is installed thru the front wall of my condo. It wasn't putting out any cold air. http://SDAIR.com determined that the freon had leaked out of the unit. My unit was not manufactured with a valve that will allow freon to be loaded into it. Therefore, http://SDAIR.com welded on a service valve and loaded the unit with freon. It has been working great. That should be the end of an excellent review---right? Wrong.

Mark and SDair are horrible! Mark confirmed an appointment, said he was getting parts, I follow up and he said "I'm on the way" and he NEVER showed up! EVER! And then didn't return phone calls. One star is too many for this company,

This company is a joke! they rip of their customers and aren't very professional at all. they showed up 2 hours late to my appointment, and then the technician tracked dirt all over my house. They replaced my air conditioning unit with what I thought and paid for a new unit but got a refurbished junk of metal. Yelper be ware!
