Services
My father, Bill Cantrell, pictured on the right, served in the Navy during World War II. During the years following the war he went into the Heating and Air Conditioning industry for a company in San Bernardino, Ca. He became a licensed California State Contractor in 1962 and moved to Crestline, in the San Bernardino Mountains, where he began what would be a tradition for many years to come.
For new installations, equipment replacement, or any accessories the answer is yes. For service, and repair calls we have a minimum diagnostic fee to come out look at your system and tell you what is wrong and how much it will be to repair it. If we do the repair the diagnostic fee is waived. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating, which is represented by a number with 14 SEER being the minimum in Ca.

Our AC started not cooling as much and we called Jeff if he could check it out. After the call, the AC unit stopped completely. They came over first thing in the morning. They were very thorough and honest when explaining what was wrong with the unit. After suggesting few alternatives without playing the fear card, we went with a new installation with quality material and a considerably fair price. Jeff previously did work on my ac and he seemed very knowledgeable and the online reviews were good. He was very nice when I met him in person. However I have scheduled 4 appointments in which he missed and did not call to stay in communication. After posting this review , which is now edited. He immediately contacted me. Both the bid process and installation were great! Jeff and Noah were professional and knowledgeable every time I talked to them. I called J L Cantrell this morning and within an hour I had a technician at my home and an exact prognosis of why my A/C wasn't running properly. My technician, Noah, was very professional and walked us through the process and prices to fix our issue. He was also understanding that we needed to speak with our landlord first. After taking estimates from about a dozen companies, I chose to go with JL Cantrell. They were the perfect combination of affordability and quality for me. Home Depot, Lowes, Burgeson's, All-Pro were all crazy expensive. Then I interviewed some smaller companies who ended up being cheaper but they didn't have the reputation or quality of JL. The owner, Jeff, is super reasonable and easy to deal with. My favorite qualities about him are that he never pressured me into a decision and he honestly works with his clients. These guys were recommended to me by a neighbor. Not exactly sure why. They were awful. I needed to have a full system replaced in my attic. The workers that showed up looked filthy and smelled like cigarettes. They started off by tracking mud into my home. When I pointed it out, I was told "it happens". Then while working, the guys had music with bad language playing. No big deal, as I'm an adult. When my 11 year old daughter came home from school however, I asked them to turn it down. We had Jeff and his team out, to make a repair on our AC unit which was blowing out warm air. He was out one time, and two other crew members were out to other times to replace the coil in the attic. It ended up being a decent size job, but they were on time, the price seemed fair and the AC is blowing out ice cold air. Jeff is our new go to AC person.

Jeff arrived promptly to give us a bid for replacing our HVAC system. We gathered several other bids, and not only did Jeff give us a great price for great equipment, but he and his team (thank you Noah and Cameron!) installed our new HVAC system quickly and it works perfectly. I've been working with Jeff, going on my 3rd year. I live in the Mountains, in Twin Peaks. Jeff has rescued me many times. He came when I first moved in my cabins, with 3-6 feet of snow. We are so thankful to have been referred to Jeff and his team at JL Cantrell. We've had some ongoing issues with the A/C unit at our house since last summer and they've been wonderful to deal with each time. Wow I am so thankful we found J L Cantrell! My Mother is elderly and her AC went out while I was out of town. She tried to contact several providers but could not get anyone to come out. I sent a request through Yelp once I got back into town and Jeff with J L Cantrell responded very quickly.

Of course it would have to be the hottest day thus far this year (106*F) when one of our AC units decides to stop working, and we have the great misfortune of discovering this after we get home from work late in the evening. About a year ago I had a capacitor blow in the middle of June. It was about an hour after closing so I had planned on leaving a voicemail, but I got through to Jeff. He was kind enough to respond to the late call, and showed up about 15 minutes later. We were up and running in an hour!
