I had a cleaning schedule for today between 9 & 11. No one showed up. So I call to find out they have moved my time to 12 to 2 and no one let me know. I had taken off work this morning for this. I just can't take off the whole day. Very disappointed I was not called by anyone to let me know times have been changed the day before so I could talk to my work about changing the time I was out of the office. BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS CO. I scheduled a repair a month before the appointment. They told me at the time they would be at my house at 12:30. When I called a couple days before the appointment, they said they would be there by 3:30. No one had contacted me before that about moving my appointment out. I waited until 4:00 and then I called them. They said a technician was on route. Waited until 5:00 and still no call. They never showed up. I left several messages with them, no phone call back, no excuse, no apology. Horrible Customer Service!!!

BUYERS....IT'S FALL AND THEY ARE TO BUSY TO PROVIDE YOU WITH ASSISTANCE! At least that's what I was told when I drove 27 miles from home to come and do business with them.

I'm remodeling the fireplace wall and have been looking for a glass door that would accommodate the prefabricated gas fireplace without having to replace the entire gas fireplace. I called this company and was working with a young lady by the name of Ashley. I gave her all of the information regarding my current fireplace

This business is terrible! Heed the warnings of other reviewers. We have been using them for years with good results but over the last two years the service has become deplorable. They do not even seem to care. I paid for service but the repair person did not fix the problem. When he came out again he was so disrespectful and condescending because I asked why all of a sudden he is saying I just need to buy a new fireplace. Purchased a Hearthstone wood stove and blower. Blower did not work right out of the box (was never used or installed). No damage to box or blower through shipping. When asked about warranty, was told that it was covered but I would be charged for shipping of the new/replacement. Neither Hearthstone or Fireplace Man would cover shipping. I have no idea why they think I would want to take a chance on paying to have it shipped again-for all I know, they would send another faulty blower. Hearthstone stated it was in their warranty agreement. Please don't buy or do service from either of these companies

Our first visit from Joseph at the Fireplace Man was on 2/14/2020. He came in and found a melted control module which he replaced with an identical module from his truck. He moved the logs into a different configuration and attributed that as the reason for the fireplace overheating and melting. He left with the fireplace burning, but made a comment that the module was not making the several “click” noises that he expected to hear, but it was functioning so we paid for the call. After a deeply disappointing experience, we moved our service to Guardian Chimney Sweep, which was $100 less in price & absolutely lovely in their customer service.
The Fireplace Man sold our contractor an outdoor fireplace with a remote that never really worked. The pros:
- Jennifer and Ashley (and both technicians I met) are super nice and seem like good people
- High quality, beautiful logs (but at big markup over online and paired with cheapo burner and underpinnings)
- Cool showroom

- ZERO RETURN POLICY! This is the main reason I am writing this review, people need to know this before buying here! They said I should have known this but seems so weird to me. I'd 100% avoid this place just because of this. They say anything installed cannot be returned even for a restocking fee and even if it's defective

We recently purchased fireplace doors as a mode of child proofing for our 1 year old. They were very helpful in the show room and explained the different options for our set up. Unfortunately after the money was taken for the product that all went out the window. They never followed up with communication regarding issues around the measurements and with the installation. Where do I begin with fireplace man? We asked to have our fireplace serviced and then cleaned. When Ray arrived he spent about 15 minutes looking at it and said it needed a new pilot to work appropriately. We said ok and had him go ahead and get the pilot on order. We paid him that day for the service even though he was only there for 15mins. I had to call back daily for two weeks and kept getting the run around on the pilot. Once I started to get demanding, we finally got feedback that they founded figure out what type of pilot it is and Ray needed to write down the serial number. I said ok.

Very expensive for very little help - did not communicate beforehand what could and couldn't be fixed, wouldn't schedule a follow-up visit despite promising to come back and do a cleaning the next 1-2 days, apparently they can't order certain parts (including the ones we need) due to deals with certain fireplace equipment companies, etc... Felt totally ripped off.

The place has been excruciating to deal with. They sold us a fireplace for $4500 that later on I found out we could have gotten for $2500 on amazon. But that aside, they installed it so badly that the remote shows so clearly. When we asked if we could return the remote as they didn't put it behind the tray, they refused. When we suggested they add it to the back of the tray, they refused.
Additionally the fireplace is so dim and their response is the btu is low. Which when we got our plumber to come and check, it's not. It's the way they installed it. And now they don't want

Update... Michelle who claims to be the owner is an arrogant, cussing, threatening person. She is also in my opinion a thief, who does not take accountability for her OWN quotes and actions. I ignored y'all reviews on the advice of my contractor. Do not do business with these people. They sold me the wrong product, yelled cussed and screamed at me and when I told her I was making a yelp review she told me she didn't give an "f" word about what people thought of her. Meanwhile, all I ask her to do was sell me a fireplace and the remote.

I have used The Fireplaceman many times in the past but never again. Four emails with Jennifer yesterday and she asked my address 3 separate times of which I sent it to her. Then today I get a call from Ashley who is taking over for Jennifer and needs dimensions of the fireplace. I call back and leave the information with someone for Ashley and get a call back telling me I need some different items that neither Ashley nor Jennifer mentioned. I asked the person I spoke to if she saw the pictures and email chains and all she wanted to do is tell me what I need without the whole picture. Sad

Ridiculously poor customer service. Spent over $1000 on firepit supplies. Because we were told we could exchange it, we purchased a gas key ($29 very small portion of amt spent in their store) unsure of the actual length needed. Called several times to exchange it for correct size and was told each time that the shorter key that I needed was out of stock. Now that the key is FINALLY back in stock after 3MONTHS I'm told that they can't exchange it due to their 7-day return policy which is on the invoice. How do you exchange within 7 days if the item needed is continuously out of stock
