Over 100 years ago, a young Japanese immigrant named Kiyoshi Takano moved into a small home on the grounds of Moanalua Gardens. Little did he realize when he planted his family roots here that he was laying the ground work for three generations of island landscaping. The beginnings were basic. Designing walkways and planting trees at Honolulu parks.
