Over the past 40 years I have owned 3 Jotul wood stoves. They work and heat beautifully. Quality product. Note: a consumer who purchases a wood stove must learn how to operate a wood stove properly and safely (this is the case whether the wood stove is a Jotul or from a different manufacturer).
In addition to using Jotul stoves, I have provided software services to Jotul since the early 1990s. Jotul is an outstanding partner with the highest level of integrity. This company is extremely well managed.
I have the utmost respect not only for Jotul's product, but also for the company itself.

Worst Stove I have ever owned. I bought the yotul 500 and if prduced no heat at all. You could burn dry maple for 12 hours and still no heat. The enamel fell off the first year. When we approached the dealer to fix and replace under warrantee the dealer said (an this is verbatim). Yotul will do nothing because they said the stove isn't made for the cold climate of Southern Ontario!! Don't even consider these stoves as this one produced no heat and looked terrible after one year. and they are very expensive!!

Complete junk!! Paid 3200 for my stove. The Ash pan door just drops down all on its own causing the stove to burn too hot. Its so dangerous I had to put a damper in. Its the only way to slow it down. The top of stove basically melted. I had the stove shop come fix it and put all new gaskets in for 600. After running it very carefully for a year the top is getting deformed again. Same thing happened to my fathers stove. Same model. This stove is a serious safety hazzard, and I think Yotul knows it. All kinds of reports of this issue online. And yes it has a new gasket, and there aren't ashes built

I am one of Jotul's LEAST happy customers. We've had a Class 3 Direct Vent stove in our home for almost 20 years, and when it was vented thru the roof, we had no sooting problem. Six years ago, during a living room remodel, we had the stove moved and vented thru the exterior wall. BAD DECISION, since increasing stove exhaust sooting has badly damaged our siding. Repair visits by Jotul southeastern Wisconsin dealers have provided NO useful solutions to the height of the flame (10-12") or the sooty exhaust. I think we have a burner and/or air shutter problem that needs to be addressed, but I'm only

I too have run into similar problems as Christopher and must admit that Jotuls response to customers requests for simple information STINKS! and I will NEVER buy another stove or product from them! I have two LPG Allagash stoves in my home and was trying to find some information about a non vented Jotul 3 Classic. Trying to get by the receptionist was like trying to get into Fort Knox, she kept telling me "look on the internet, look on the internet". I continued to request the technical department and she relented and connected me to Mark or rather Marks answering machine. The machine told me that

I spent about $4,000. for a top of the line model F600. Soon the enamel around the top chimney collar started peeling. Now the entire stove top is loosing its enamel - very ugly .Contacted dealer- they are now out of business. Contacted Jotul NA - they refuse to answer my letters or calls. Stay away from these people. Considering a lawsuit.

Upon purchase of a wood stove we were told we would get a $100 rebate which was mailed around Oct 10. After waiting 8 weeks our dealer called Jotul & was told the rebates wouldn't be sent out until after the 1st of the year. Most rebates are mailed by 8 weeks not 3 months. But then again, what does "after the first of the year" mean? Seems pretty open-ended to me!

While looking into woodburning stoves, I've always heard wonderful things about Jotul. But when I went to their site, they had an endless redirect loop, no matter which computer was used, be it home or work, the site was basically, for all intents and purposes, borked. Cleared cookies, and everything - still no go. It's pretty disappointing, since I was looking to see what they had on offer, and EPA status of their stoves. Seems a shame to lose customers because site-code's bad.
