James and his team worked to help us understand all of the issues, from design flaws to lack of previous maintenance to a very poorly installed oil flue. They cleaned and repaired everything and helped us understand options for making our fireplaces work SAFELY. Totally professional and lovely guys. I would recommend in a heartbeat!

Inspection was very quick but very detailed. The two technicians that were dispatched to my house were very informative, professional, and courteous (especially now during covid times). James was also quick to respond to any communication I sent his way. Worth every penny!

Found James Ball LLC via the CSIA web site - he seems to have a lot more training compared to other chimney professionals. And what was even better is how responsive he is. The majority of service professionals I attempt to contact through their web sites are non-responsive, which defeats the whole point of having a Contact Us form online. James Ball is the opposite: he replied to my inquiry in minutes and was extremely helpful trying to analyze an issue via email.

Highly recommend James. Great guy who knows what he is talking about. Recently purchased a new home and asked James to come check out the existing fireplace. Not only did he visit to personally inspect but he shared a bunch of useful information regarding function and long term care. We learned a lot. James is highly professional. He walked me through all the issues with our chimneys and what recommendations he had. He will let you know all the things you should do in order for you to have safe working chimneys. He does not push you to a sale and genuinely cares about safety first. He installed a liner in our oil flue and will be using again for our fireplace flue. He is also reasonably priced with the market.

I called James to review work done by another chimney company because I felt I was being ripped off. James responded immediately, spent about an hour at my house, went over the previously done work with me and didn't accept payment. There was no sales pitch, just a desire to help. Because of that help I was able to recover some of the money paid to the other company. I was very impressed by James and will use his services in the future.
