I have been renting a climate-controlled unit for almost four years -- but last week I went to the unit to find MOLD on my furniture and my boxes were sagging! It's awful and the entire building area smells musty!

I rented a small unit here to store my daughters dorm items over the summer... I will admit I was a bit concerned as I have never rented a storage unit before... I contacted 422 storage with questions as well as explaining I was from out of the country and unsure of what needed to be done. Holly was a huge help, emails answered very quickly as well as a couple of phone calls. Holly sent me a detailed email of how to find the unit (a its a bit of a maze!) along with the pass codes and even the information of the lights coming on in the halls. As we all know, moving generally stinks, but sometimes it is also an opportunity to be humbled by the kindness of strangers. During my 6-month "stay" (if you will) at Carlin's, the folks who help run the facility and storage accounts went above and beyond to help make everything go as easy as possible. Nobody wants to ever have to put their stuff in storage, and there can be stressful or extenuating circumstances surrounding the move. Even though that's the business they're in, I think they "get" that.
