Thompson Fine Home Renovations is a family-owned, full-service residential renovation company. We specialize in brownstone and row house remodeling, with special attention to historical and period-correct restorations. We work in and around Hudson County, NJ, and have expanded to also include Essex County, NJ.

We hired Thompson renovations a few years ago for multiple jobs and since moved. I so wish they worked outside the NE New Jersey area. We've dealt with multiple contractors and none have lived up to the Thompson name. Our investment with them had a huge return to our house sale due to his guidance & impeccable workmanship. Andy Thompson is extremely on top of everything so that there is no need to micro manage him or his team. End of the day, you pay for what you get for. If you have a demanding job and need someone to come in and get the work done correct and by code, hire them!

The thought of hiring a contractor to gut renovate our kitchen was terrifying, but I am SO happy I went with Thompson Fine Home Renovation! They are perfectionists (in the best possible way), provide amazing service, and go above and beyond. I love that they have an app to track all of the work so you can see progress along the way! They handled it all for us - fresh paint for the entire place, redoing the hardwood floors, and a brand new kitchen! I will absolutely hire them again for other renovations and I recommend them to everyone!

However, I am GREATLY put off when some one charges for a project estimate. If you can't be bothered to scope out the job (with even a rough guideline as to what a project will cost for labor) then I'm not interested. Also: I was told I would have to move out to renovate two bathrooms, i.e., he would not renovate one bathroom at a time. Perhaps other people are willing to go for this, but not me.
