During the stress of moving to a new house, Newtown Fireplace was an island of calm and professionalism: Ed O'Sullivan personally came to the new address; did the measurements; confirmed that our choice of wood-burning inserts would indeed work in the new house; set up the installation; and, on the appointed days cleaned and lined the chimney and installed our new Vermont Castings Montpelier. He and Jen Gaynor made sure that it was done on time and to code, in a township that takes its permitting very seriously. They are wonderful people to work with; the insert is amazing as well as beautiful

Great overall experience with this place. I had them service my twenty year old unit and added a fan. Don and Lauri were very pleasant on the phone. Don answered all my questions. Lauri followed up to make sure I knew that the ordered fan was received on time for a scheduled appointment. Jim came out and did a great job. BTW, I don’t have a habit writing reviews.

Can't say enough about our overall experience with Newtown Fireplace! We had a very old and dated door and gas log set that was long overdue for being replaced. They were great and so easy to work with the entire way through the process, from deciding on new log set and door, installation and finally project completion. The entire process was very positive and the staff (shop staff, installers, etc) were all so friendly and helpful along the way. 5 start experience in every way and I will definitely recommend them to anyone I know that needs fireplace work done!

Very happy with the new wood stove insert we purchased from Newtown Fireplace Shop. Ed and his crew were very professional and very knowledgeable. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. Also, they showed the utmost consideration for our safety by wearing masks from the initial consultation through the final installation. I highly recommend.

We recently converted our wood insert fireplace to a gas fired insert. The entire experience with Ed and his team was great. When we visited the store, Ed spent as much time as needed explaining options and features. The installation was scheduled and Brian and Steve arrived at the scheduled time. The guys were here most of the day and were very professional. Could not be happier with the results. We had not had a fire in years, but we've used the new unit every day since it was installed. Highly recommended.

I had no idea I knew so little about fireplaces. Thanks to Ed and his staff, we are on our way to a warmer and more efficient home, and couldn't be happier. We purchased a wood insert and will never go back to a traditional fireplace---times have changed. From the moment we walked into the showroom, everyone was professional and friendly! We were shown all of the features of the gas fireplace we had inquired about, and the explanation of the process was very easy to understand!
We had an initial quote, but Ed called us and said there were a few things that upon review they said we didn’t need and reduced the final cost by about $600.00! They did not have to do that and we never would have been the wiser- We appreciate a company that shows honesty and integrity!!

Newtown Fireplace installed a replacement fireplace in our family room in the fall of 2019. It was problematic from the start. Soot on our walls and in the family room. They pointed the finger at us for not knowing how to use the fireplace correctly. We resolved that issue by keeping a window ajar when starting the fireplace. That we never had to do in 25 years prior.
To get to the point of this review, we went to start the fire with our remote start which failed to start. Only used this device a half dozen times. In performing fault isolation it appeared that the remote start device in the fireplace

We purchased an outdoor unit a few years back, and the purchasing experience was great. Ed even went the extra mile to locate a large, outdoor unit, that doesn't have glass in front of the flames (this was a must for us). We wanted to buy locally just in case anything went wrong, and we prefer to support local small business. And I'm glad I did, as the unit never consistently turned on for the first 18 months we owned it. But they stood behind the product they sold us, and never gave up trying to figure out what the issue was. After several trips they were able to figure it out and make the repair
