Artful Chimney installs around 350 chimney liners a year for customers converting to Natural gas. We have found Dave Kehoe to be honest, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. For 20 years Artful Chimney Service has been working with Vermont Gas Systems and our customers to ensure safe and reliable venting systems.
He wasted no time in getting on with the project and I am totally confident in the job he did. What's more, David is truly a delightful person and a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend Artful Chimney Service, to anyone and everyone who has a chimney in need of attention! David Kehoe is one of the most honest, dependable, and knowledgeable professionals I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with.
David takes great pride in every job -no matter its size. He is a true craftsman who stands by his work, which is a rare quality in today's world.

Services
The Artful Chimney Service, Inc. was established in 1980. It is owned and operated by David, Carrigan & Tina Kehoe. They are true VT chimney sweeps. David is gas certified, a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild, CSIA certified, a member of the VT Fire Prevention Division and VT Public Safety and a certified M-Flex installer.
David has been in the chimney business for over 30 years and has worked with various types of fuels for even longer. He grew up in the family business working on tugboats and barges, transporting fuels up the Hudson River, Erie Canal and into Lake Champlain. He was also featured in the book "Low Bridges and High Waters" by Charles T. O'Malley.
Customers often ask about smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. The CSIA recommends that customers purchase at least one smoke detector for each level of the home, including the basement, and to install smoke detectors near sleeping areas. There are two basic type of smokes detectors: ionization and photoelectric.

We have owned and operated apartments in Burlington, S Burlington, and Winooski for 25 years. Once we discovered David, there has been no other choice but Artful to help with our Chinmeys. From squirrel removal, to chimney liners, to frantic calls to help for some random thing we couldn't figure out, to regualr service. David does what he says and says what he does, extremely well. He has done this for so long, his knowledge is deep. Office staff includes his wife who is pleasant and on top of things.
Highly recommend.

Artful Chimney Services are delightful to work with. Tina is an excellent and empathetic communicator who was able to work me into their schedule at a very busy time of year. David knows the ins and outs of chimneys better than anyone--and bonus points that he knew more history of my 1844 home than I did! I'd highly recommend them.

I had Artful Chimney (David) over to perform a chimney inspection. He not only did a thorough job he was honest and let me know my chimney was clean enough for the season. He found a few things that needed to be corrected and came back the next day t fix the problems. While he was performing the work, he ran into a few issues that he fixed for free! I have not had a better experience with a private business owner than this and highly recommend him.
