Cal Tile

I went to Cal tile in alameda. I spent an hour after I selected the tiles explaining to the salesperson how much I needed for the bathroom walls, bathroom floors, shower floor. I had the sq footage written. I also ordered accent tile. They messed up the order and had to make a new order for the floor. Ordered only for the walls not the bathroom floor after I specifically went over the dimesnions. Then for the accent I told them the sq footage and how many inches I wanted the accent. They messed that up too. They refused to get two more sheets unless I paid 150 dollars shipping and then

Cal Tile went out of their way to help me with a rush job. They have a remarkably extensive variety of tile. It was worth checking with Cal Tile.

Everyone was very helpful. I love the way my floor looks and feels. Very high quality tile selection.

Awful experience. You're not allowed to go in the store to look even though there's NO ONE in the store. They won't even let one customer in at a time. So I had to stand at the door in the cold and wind and "tell them what I wanted", which is hard to do when you're looking for ideas and are open to many things. So they brought me a few pieces. Then they have a limit of 3 samples you can take. They take your credit card, and they WILL CHARGE YOU FOR THE SAMPLES IF THEY'RE NOT BACK WITHIN 24 HOURS. I don't know anyone who is in the middle of looking and choosing

Quality work and product. Perhaps a little expensive and their timelines can take long if they don’t have product on site.

Calvin was kind, responsive, diligent and even followed up!! Really appreciated the quality of the products they sell and their service! These are tough times with Covid and I think they are handling it with grace and dignity. I would highly recommend supporting this long standing locally owned and operated business!!!

I realize that we are in the midst of Covid 19, but, if you don't know what you want, I would not recommend going here, unless, you know exactly what you want. I could not touch the tile, and I had to look at one sample tile at a time. It didn't work for me, so I went elsewhere, where I could see and touch the tile while maintaining a safe distance.

This store had one of the wider selections of quality tile products, but where they really shine is the service. Did your tile installer run out of tile in the middle of a project? No problem. They'll get it in by the next day and have you back in business. Does the tile installer do it to you AGAIN? (Mine did). Cal Tile will be there to help you out with accurate service getting the right tile in fast yet again. You can't beat that combination of selection and service. I would never go anywhere else.

Beware. They have a very restrictive return policy. You must return whole boxes of tile, and you have a month to do it. The man dared me to post a complaint saying, "be my guest." More than a little nasty.

Outstanding product and service. First time selecting bathroom floor tile. Received friendly and professional suggestions. Took home samples and ordered one. Parking and carry out. He put tiles in my trunk and off I went, a satisfied customer. Highly recommended.

The owner was rude....I was asking him a question and he answered the phone while i was in the middle of a sentence
He argued with me about my order and didn't stop to listen but just talked over me.
He apparently doesn't like dealing with women
He insisted that I asked for something that I am 150%+++ that I didn't.
I haven't been treated that poorly in a long time.

This place is amazing. So many choices and you can take your time and not worry about people bothering you or can't find help. Love this place

Came here to buy Schlulter edging for our tile showers and also grout for the tiling. Yes, we could have paid less at the big box store, but the proprietor here patiently answered all of my questions about tiling and was very knowledgeable because he was a former tile contractor.

Street metered parking is a bit of a pain, but is pretty much available.

I went into this shop not expecting much and was more than surprised. This shop has a ton of options and extremely helpful service (as well as reasonable prices). They saved my tush when accent tile for the shower that was special-ordered from another shop fell through...twice. They later patiently assisted me try out eight zillion options for tile for a fireplace hearth, introduced me to schluter edges, and didn't mind when I didn't buy but later came back to get tile galore. Used these guys last year based on the good reviews on Yelp. They actually mis-measured our kitchen and did not account for the 1-inch backsplash they were replacing...so, they cut the wrong amount of countertop and had to re-do the whole thing a few days later. This seemed like a really rookie oversight on their part. Secondly, when they came to re-do the countertop the second time around, they chipped one of the pieces where the edge met the next counter and tried to blend it. I actually pointed out the imperfection and they came out the next day to "fix it" which really just meant
