It all began with Fireclay Founder and Chief Ceramicist Paul Burns, who got his start as an apprentice to his uncle at the age of 10, carrying on a family tradition that dates back to the 1920s. With a knack for the trade, a mind for science, and a passion for conservation, Paul set out on his own and made Fireclay Tile in 1986.

Fireclay Tile is just amazing. Whatever you want they have. if you are on a budget they can help you. They also have some of the most expensive, and unique tile you will find anywhere. We are in Los Angeles and ordered the tile for a historical 50's house from Fireclay.
They have handmade tile is various designs and their Spanish tile is the bomb. It is all great. Their Escher tile is stunning.
What is especially nice about Fireclay is their service. They go out of their way to help you. They work with designers, contractors and home owners. They have their own designers there as well.

Awesome experience with Fireclay tile! I fell in love with their Escher tile when I first saw it on Pinterest. My rep Tiffannie was very helpful every step of the way including sending me samples every possible option of "teal" for us to select from. Ordering was easy, delivery went well, not a single broken tile sending it literally cross country. I love getting inspiration from their site for our next tile project. Recommend Fireclay highly!

I have been ordering samples of Fireclay tile, dreaming of the day when we'd be ready to use them in a project. A local B-corp, using recycled materials and environmentally friendly practices, with so many beautiful colors, so many shapes - what's not to love? I have amassed many samples, for so many future fantasy applications. I have not found another tile company that has appealed to me like Fireclay's products. I decided to pick up the phone and see what happens and came into contact with Tiffannie. She was absolutely wonderful to work with, we chatted about other cool life stuff we enjoy and she helped me settle in on the right tile for my project. I am a PM for a remodeling company here in the city & Fireclay is my go-to for my clients looking to add color and quality to their projects. We wanted to change up our old fireplace and replace it with tile all the way up. Fireclay was a no brainer for the quality of the tile and the customer service. My wife and I had problems with Fireclay from day one.
Initial order - I tried four times to submit an order online, with no success. Fireclay couldn't figure out what the error was. So I had to write a check, and then email them a picture of the check (we're on the east coast, they're on the west), before they would initiate the order. The online ordering issue was never figured out. Many weeks later, we received our tiles - but not enough to complete our job.
Follow-up order - We had to send a 'control sample' back to them to order the additional tiles. (I'm unclear

Having been in the tile business for decades, I have known the folks at Fireclay for a long time. We just remodeled our Spanish Revival kitchen, and we chose to work with Fireclay because of their handmade CROSS AND STAR tiles, which are perfect for the project.

I highly recommend Fireclay Tile. My wife and I just remodeled our bathroom using Fireclay tiles on the walls surrounding the tub and on the floor. The tiles are beautiful! Every person who came to work on our bathroom complimented us on the tiles, and our friends and family loved them, too. I ordered tiles from Fireclay for a small job--re-tiling around my fireplace. I chose Fireclay based on a combination of selection, apparent quality, and price (relatively lower than some other handmade tile companies). I was particularly impressed with the customer service--the assigned design consultant Tiffanie was super helpful and thorough in helping me decide how many tiles I needed, including providing a really useful 3D rendering based on the dimensions I sent her.

Fireclay is an expert company with expert staff to walk a homeowner through a project. Tiffanie was especially amazing to work with as I wavered and questioned many, many tile options in deciding. She never pushed me or expected my decision on her terms... quite the opposite. Tiffanie patiently and intelligently responded to every question and request for advice. I ended up ordering my fish scale tiles from Fireclay for several reasons. I ordered color samples from several companies, and Fireclay was the only one that did not charge me for the samples or the shipping! I had a personal account rep who helped me on the phone and online by sending me pictures and more, yes more, color samples. Her name was Tiffannie, and she was GREAT! The pricing was competitive with the other companies I looked at. I think that FIreclay was slightly less by the time it was all said and done. When my tile arrived from California all the way to Delaware it looked fine

Ordered tile from here in October 2018. The tile was delivered faster than expected. The color was the lush deep blue color they promised. Love it. Fireclay Tile was recommended to us by our interior designer and It was definitely worth the purchase. I did get to visit their showroom in San Francisco. Fireclay has an outstanding color range to choose from. They also have a number of unusual sizes and shapes that really get your ideas flowing. The staff are very patient, knowledgeable and helpful. Jane went out of her way when we finalized our order; she logged in on her day off to make sure our order went through. You can get free samples to take home to be sure the colors work in the light and space of your own home. We ordered during a peak period and were told it would be 7 to 9 weeks for the tiles to arrive (they are all hand painted). Ours took the full 9 weeks but were well worth

Then she helped me pull down every sample I thought might work and watched while I tried this combo and that. What I thought I wanted didn't create the right effect, very frustrating: it wasn't harmonious. When I asked, Katie quickly built a new sample set with just one change, and everything fell into place. It was unexpected but exactly right. Then she even set out a few alternates, and they were gorgeous
