Red Door Interiors
As a child I use to go to my friends' homes and rearrange the furniture in their bedrooms, hang things on the walls and happily create what I thought was a beautiful space. My creative Mom would volunteer her time and efforts freely to friends and family to organize, paint, sew and move heavy things for the pure joy that she got as a result of making a space inviting and fabulous.

If this was a "sickness" we were happy to have it. Lara Lathrop Anderson is the owner of Red Door Interiors and she has been working in interior design for over 20 years as a designer and retailer. She started out in Seattle as an assistant for the award winning interior designer, Rocky Rochon, where she designed and managed high-end residential and commercial projects.

Later, in Portland, OR she primarily focused on commercial design at a contract furniture retailer. Lara moved back to her hometown of Olympia in 2004 and opened up Red Door Home Dcor with her mother in 2006. For 10 years, she and her mother, refurbished furniture and provided design services throughout the community until the shop sold in 2015.
Services
A successful design project makes a client feel at home and visitors feel envious. Your home should tell the story of who you are and be a collection of what you love. A good designer selflessly guides you to a unique place that represents you and not the designer. Do you buy dcor items or artwork but you struggle where to place or how to group?
The Dauenhauer's home was extensively damaged in a violent wind storm during the Spring 2017 in East Olympia. Crest Line Homes was the General Contractor hired to virtually rebuild most of the home. The bones were good in this classic colonial but the small blocked off rooms were not ideal for todays more open and casual concept that people prefer.
Putnam Master bathroom was very dated to say the least. Transforming this bathroom was a fun challenge. The space was small and felt cramped. I wanted a dramatic change for my clients that would open everything up but still work with the natural wood trim throughout the home and their own taste and sensibilities.

I can't recommend this place enough. Lara and her team are motivated, enthusiastic, and have an incredible eye. Great communication and follow through. Look no further for a designer.

Lara did an amazing job helping us choose colors for our interior. Our house has a lot of slanted ceilings and architectural details so I was afraid to go with too many colors. She picked just the right colors that made our house feel fresh and new again. Also all of the colors go with everything I own even the linens even though we went from builder's beige to gray tones. She also helped us pick out the carpet which flows nicely with our home and gives it an updated like.

We haven't done house projects in Olympia before as we moved here eight years ago and bought a new house. Lara helped

Working with Red Door Interiors to redesign our old home was a complete joy. Lara was insightful in choosing updated lighting that was cohesive and beautiful. Her ideas for colors, fabrics, cushions, wallpapers, and rugs completely breathed life into our home. The colors and designs she helped us with make it vibrant. We feel that our home looks beautiful. We continue to receive compliments every time we have guests over. I highly recommend Red Door Interiors!

I am going to make a long story short about how I found Lara Anderson, and after dragging my heels for years wanting to remodel my kitchen, and DESTROY my master bath, I finally pulled the trigger. I have ABSOLUTELY no décor genes, so it was a blank canvas. My fear was I'd end up with someone else's vision, but Lara took me under her wing. She quickly zeroed into my likes/dislikes, so it became fun and not at all intimidating. I now have the bathroom of my dreams, and a kitchen I am still amazed is actually mine, and with Lara's help, reflect our lifestyle. We also did her 'one day house refresh

Lara was amazing! I was so stressed with downsizing homes. Lara was able to incorporate my treasures with pieces she brought over. My home is now cozy and comfortable. The colors she chose to paint the rooms with are ones I wouldn't have chosen on my own, and they turned out beautifully! I gave Lara the freedom to just move things around, and she did just that:) I would recommend Red Door Interiors in a heart beat!!!! Candy

One of my favorite stores in Olympia! They have such an eye for style. Every time I feel like I walked into a store of all the beautiful pinterest projects I've been to lazy to create. They are incredible at taking an older item and breathing a new life into it. I continue to get compliments on two sets of chairs I got there. Very reasonably priced as well.

This is a charming decorating store in downtown Olympia. They have all sort of interior decorating items at reasonable prices. The owner walks around to help you with anything ideas you are trying to build on.

I think this is a good starting place if you wish to redecorate your home.

Super cute store, as mentioned in another review it is used or repurposed items at great prices. I love that the things I buy here are one of a kind and I most likely will never see them in someone else's house :). If you add them on Facebook, they put up pictures once a week of new items so you can browse before going there. As of this review, they close onTuesdays. Also, parking is available right outside the store but make sure to pay the meter fee!

Saw this store while traveling through Olympia. Seemed interesting. I walked in and the woman (possibly owner) was talking to another customer telling him she would give him a deal on something he was interested in.

I found a set of glasses I was interested in, but they were filthy. I asked the woman if they were open to offers... she said, "no". Seemed a bit odd that she would offer one customer a deal, and not even consider an offer on a set of dirty used glasses from another customer. Strange.
