Disappointed in their work. After the initial quote, he randomly showed up early in the morning on a Saturday with no notification, and we had to rush over because he didn't call us until he arrived. The actual inspection wasn't very thorough -- no snake cameras or anything here, just a smartphone taking pictures up through the flue. "Cleaning" was just sticking a vacuum hose up through the flue. Finally, we needed repointing work done above the roof line. Later, we replaced our roof and discovered that underneath some tarring the previous owners had added, there was more deterioration

I spoke with the owner on the phone, and his son Vinny came out to inspect my chimney. Both were great to work with, inspired confidence in their professional knowledge and their ethical standards of doing business. Vinny explained how to take care of my fireplace and chimney to reduce maintenance costs, and explained what he was doing and why I didn't need a cleaning. Such helpful explanations and courteous service. Great follow-up, and they fit me in during the busy season. I will be calling them every time. Thank you!

I needed to have both chimney chambers inspected/cleaned before the heating season. Ricky returned my call promptly, and said he could come by within 24 hours. In fact, he showed up within a couple of hours!
He was very professional, knowledgeable, and personable, got right to the job, explained what he was doing, gave tons of tips about furnace efficiency, fireplace efficiency, future maintenance, etc. As he finished he tested the air flow in both chambers to ensure that they were in proper working order.

This was our first time hiring Alton's Finest to clean our chimney. Mr. Meuse showed up on time and worked quickly and expertly and determined that we didn't need a full cleaning at this time, which saved us a bunch of money. We heard about this gentleman from a coworker, who highly recommended him. We had a bad experience withe another company who tried to talk us into over $5000 in work.
Ricky inspected our chimney, said it as clean, didn't need to be swept, and probably wouldn't for a long time, due the the way the pellet stove was installed. Told us there was no need to spend money on a liner. He was so honest and said he would never charge for unnecessary work., and only charged for the inspection.
He was fast, responsive, and came right away.
I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Ricky got back to my enquiry quickly in the busiest time of year. We moved into a new home but wanted the chimney cleaned and inspected to be sure it was safe. He told us it was perfect and that we shouldn't be paying someone to clean it and only charged us for the inspection. Very polite and easygoing. Could not recommend him enough.

Ricky arrived on time and was very professional. He inspected 3 fireplaces and flues in our newly purchased house, and made it clear that two of them were in good shape and didn't need cleaning. On the third, only the shelf by the flue needed cleaning, which was obvious when he began pulling ash down. He was very honest because he could have tried to get me to pay to clean all three chimneys when all I needed was to clean the shelf. I very much appreciated that, and would certainly use and recommend him in the future.

Ricky is terrific. Very friendly and communicative, and his prices are fair. He came to clean the chimney for our woodstove insert, and it turned out that the caps on our chimney were bluestone, and weighed about 60 pounds each, and it wouldn't allow him to clean the flue with his current tools. He explained he could come back with the right equipment, but it would be 30 dollars more. We asked him to come back because we liked him and the price still seemed fair. He came back two days later, on time, and got right to work. He also informed me that he would charge me the original price he quoted

Ricky was quick to respond and we booked it for Friday. He showed up on time. He cleaned and inspected our wood stove and chimney. He did a great job. He showed us pictures of before and after the clean up. He also pointed out some damage in the chimney we should repair. He showed us pictures of the damage. He also gave us a quote to fix it, if we wanted too. He was friendly and professional.

I needed to have our chimney flue cleaned and inspected, to get a permit for replacing the boiler. I posted the job on Thumbtack and Ricky was quick to respond, he came the next day.
Ricky is very experienced and knowledgeable, he worked quickly but thoroughly, and explained what he was doing. His work was clean and professional, he's a nice person and his price is reasonable. Good experience overall.
