Services
The process of replacing a failed septic system can be an intimidating undertaking for homeowners. Most homeowners know very little about their septic system, so when a system fails it can create anxiety. Below you will find an outline of the process for the design and installation of a typical septic system.
D.F. Clark, Inc. provides pumping services to residence in the North Shore area. Pumping your septic system too often is not good for your septic system or your wallet. You should be pumping your system when the scum and sludge layers are equal to 1/3 the overall liquid depth of your tank (see the Frequently Asked Questions page for more information).
One of the most important things you can do to extend the life of your septic system is to perform the necessary septic system maintenance. Being that your onsite sewage system is a significant investment, I am sure that you would want to protect it. Septic system maintenance consists of having a qualified professional, pump out your septic tank or cesspool as needed, as well as perform an overall assessment of your tank structure.
When a septic system fails a Title 5 Inspection or the system shows signs of getting tired ex. Once you have a septic design plan you can obtain proposals from Licensed Septic Installers working in your town. I would suggest contacting your Board of Health office for a list of license installers for your town.
Do learn the location of your septic tank and drainfield. Keep a sketch of it handy with your maintenance records for service visits. Do have your septic tank system inspected annually. Do have your septic tank pumped out regularly by a licensed contractor. Do keep your septic tank cover accessible for inspections and pumpings.

This company was recommended to me by a friend. I called to get a quote. I expressed how urgent the situation. The receptionist was not helpful. I really felt like I was bothering her. I explained that I work in Boston and would like to see if they could pickup the plans. She said she would check and call me back. There was no return phone call. I called again and was treated poorly. I asked her why I did not hear from her. She said they were unable to pickup the plans. I said that would have been nice to know. She was curt and couldn't get off the phone fast enough. Being in

I highly recommend this septic system company. Last November I had sewage seeping out the cover of the system and thought I was looking at a disaster.. and for a system that had just passed title V about three months earlier! They came out that day and found that the only issue was a clogged filter which they took care of right away. They could have easily duped me into thinking that I needed my septic system pumped and make much more money off of me, but they were totally honest and wonderful. I contacted them today for their annual filter cleaning program and the call had reminded me that I

Great experience. I had to call them for "emergency service" on the day of our Christmas Party. The tech Bob responded within a few minutes of my call and was very helpful on the phone. Prior to coming here he outlined pricing for me, which seemed to be a issue for some other Yelpers. It seems like they took that feedback and addressed it. The tech was here within a hour of the call and unclogged & pumped our system with a few extra hours to spare before the party began.

How about zero stars? Dishonest, rude and unprofessional.
Came out last year and pumped our tank. Within several months, sewerage is backing into the house. This has never happened in 20 years. They came out again and said the filter is clogged. Charge another $290 plus another $125 service fee. I never agreed to pay these fees and they never disclosed that they would charge again.
When I tried to have a conversation with them, they said it's normal to have a system serviced every few months, that I must be clogging the toilet, and that they would come back and dump raw sewerage on my lawn

We had DF Clark do our Title V inspection. While the inspection went fine and the technician did a good job putting our yard back intact, their office staff was not very helpful in sharing pricing details, scope for replacing the D box. It was a little surprising that a breakdown of services was not something they could share or discuss. We ended up working with another provider and discovered that they should have called Dig Safe when they first came out and dug up the yard. Luckily, no problems but we're awaiting Dig Safe now before we can finalize the repair.
