Owner Gary Lekan began his locksmith career in January of 1976 at a small lockshop in Mount Prospect Illinois.

Rather than purchasing new hardware, new keys can be made to work in existing locks at a much lower cost by rekeying. The procedure ensures that the old keys will no longer work in the lock. Rekeying a lock is the process of changing the tumblers of a lock cylinder to make the existing keys inoperable and enable new keys to operate the lock.

On two separate occasions, Will and Kevin scheduled my appointment promptly. They fixed a poor installation (not done by them in the first place), installed new 'smart home' door hardware, tuned up existing hardware and re-keyed locks to provide a 'master' key and 'guest' keys. Friendly, professional and reliable. They know what they're doing!

I'm super impressed with First Lock and Security. Gary was efficient, professional and friendly from my first interaction with him to the completion of a very large project. We needed to replace several different doorknobs, install deadbolts and rekey several of the deadbolts. Gary created and adjusted the estimate quickly.
During the installation, his team was incredible. They worked together. They were much faster than we anticipated, and they cleaned up as they went. We barely noticed their presence and everything is perfect.
