Tran + Thomas design studio owners, Jill Tran and Carmen Thomas have a unique story in that their brothers have been best friends for over two decades. It is that relationship which brought them together in 2011 to form Tran + Thomas Design Studio. Our designers have attended the High Point Furniture Market for over 30 years. That time has been spent building long-standing relationships and curating over 250 furniture, accessory and lighting lines. These relationships give our clients access to unique products they might not otherwise have access to.

I had the pleasure of working with Jill and Patrice. They were so accommodating, nice and really helped when it came to bouncing ideas of how I wanted my home to look and feel. They helped me focus on form and function and helped narrow the purpose of each room. They also provided measurements and practical tip, suggestions on materials, lighting, and furniture, and even helped me move a few pieces around to see if I would like the flow better. I had the pleasure of working with Jill and Carmen as a general contractor on a fun project. I have to say that I am CONSTANTLY reminded (with each job since then when I am working with other designers) of how easy and what a blessing it was to have Jill’s drawings and plans in place at the start of construction. It eased SO MUCH STRESS on my part and took so much guess work out of the equation! Clients wonder why I have to bring in a designer or an architect for drawings and why I can’t just “throw it together.” Well, the larger the project and the more details there are

My husband and I had the best experience working with Tran +Thomas designs!! We had just started a lease in a new apartment and wanted to start fresh with decor and furniture. Carmen & Jill brought all the thinking to our kitchen and master bath remodel. Open this wall, move this wall, close off this area—all ideas we would have never considered. Had the most amazing design experience with Tran Thomas. I want to decorate our house myself but I needed someone to narrow the wide world of home decor for me to keep me sane. Tran Thomas design did just that! They were so enthusiastic and encouraging. They gave me the confidence to make my own choices and gave me guidance when I couldn't. They asked questions about us and incorporated our passions into the design. They were never dismissive or pompous and their ideas were so creative! I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Carmen and Jill were such a pleasure to work with! They both have extensive knowledge of materials and construction as well as being experts in Interior and Exterior design. This combination made for excellent coordination across all phases of the project. Always a pleasure working with Jill Tran and Carmen Thomas!! Both are excellent designers with a very strong attention to detail. They listen to what each homeowner wants for their project, and then work very hard with the contractor and subcontractors (like myself) to make those visions turn into reality. Building or remodeling a large custom home can be overwhelming to some homeowners, with the amount of decisions that need to be made. But their extensive experience and knowledge always makes the process much easier for clients. I am very fortunate to be able to do business with Tran + Thomas

Working with Jill and Carmen for our kitchen renovation was an absolute delight. From the get go, I could tell that Jill grasped our style and desires for the project.
