They moved us from our two bedroom highrise into a townhouse and Carlito and his team did a fantastic job! The townhouse was very difficult to move into with no easy access, no easy parking, and a large courtyard and they did everything very efficiently and were fantastic. I fully recommend this company!

From the beginning of the process, I got a real sense of professionalism from their coordinator over the phone. This was my first time hiring movers and I was anxious about the logistics and cost. The crew that showed up really showed up and made me feel at ease. Jose and his colleagues were efficient but careful, and very courteous and communicative. They really took care of my stuff, plus they were gracious as I nervously decided how they should arrange my furniture after they carried the pieces up 3 flights of stairs. We hired new city for packing and moving. They sent separate crews and both of them were exceptional and efficient. Watching them operate made me feel guilty about how out of shape I am. The crew had younger and older people who were carrying the heavy boxes up and down so efficiently. Overall it was a positive experience from booking to moving. I tipped them generously since they deserved more!

One of the best loving experiences I have had. We had a crew of three men (they said they call themselves the chapo crew) and they moved 2 bed/2 bath to a 3 bed/3 bath in 5 hours- I have a lot of things! I swear it was the fastest move I have ever seen. They arrived on time, introduced themselves, and got to work. I appreciate their hard work, positive attitude, and commitment to excellence!

New City Movers gave me an absolutely asinine quote with a ridiculously high price. I was able to find another moving company that charged less than half of what New City Movers tried to charge me. Over $1,000 for a small move that shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours? That's almost the same price as an entire month of rent at the new place I'm moving to! I can't believe people actually pay those high prices for moving when there are other moving companies that do the same quality job in the same timeframe for $300 - $500. You really need to consider the fact that your prices

Called to get estimate and the guy I talked to was short snd not pleasant to talk to. Want a piano moved and after a short conversation realized that this company will take advantage of you if you let them, 195 piano moving fee, 185 a hour to move, Milage fee, and only after I inquired on how much time a piano takes them to move did he inform me that they have a minimum 2 hour fee!!!!! Ok so 500 plus milage , and after I told him I would have to get back to him I said goodbye and he hung up on me !! Super Rude!!!!

The movers we had today made moving out of the city to the suburbs a very easy process. The movers were very professional and handled our personal items with the utmost care, as they not only shrink-wrapped our furniture, but also put the furniture together without even asking.
Will be using these guys again in a few years once we move from our apartment into a home. Thanks guys!

Used the NextDoor app to ask the community I'd be moving into if anyone had recommendations for a trustworthy moving company. I received nearly 100 responses, most of which raved about the quality of service New City Moving offered.
The original quote was high ($600 for 3 hours with 3 movers) for moving a one bedroom from a storage unit into an apartment about ten miles away. The movers were on-time, friendly, and hardworking. Could not recommend this moving company more! I've used this twice now and have more than happy both times! They're incredibly reliable and professional. Scheduling and getting estimates went super smoothly (and both times the actual cost was lower than the estimated price). They're super vigilant about making sure about freight elevator details and were very prompt in their arrival.

Update: The owner of the company reached out to me after seeing my review and worked with me to make things right. I wish I didn't need to write a bad Yelp review in order to receive some support, but in the end, the owner took responsibility and did the right thing.
TL;DR: Lied about the transport, didn't properly pack items, delivered items to me that belonged to someone else, and they don't use any type of tracking system for long distance moves, so when they lost or stole over $600 of my items, there's no way to find them.

I'm so glad I used New City Moving! Their pricing is very competitive (I shopped around for quotes from several moving companies) and they did a great job.
They moved my furniture quickly and actually got done a bit earlier than expected. The movers really seemed like they knew what they were doing and made sure all my furniture had proper protection while in transit. The movers were also friendly to work with! If you need the best and most affordable movers, New City Moving is for you! I've also used their services in the past and I guess I didn't write a review then but I can say their service has been consistent and if not better!
I was worried about moving in the middle of a pandemic but New City Moving pulled through for us with having the best affordable price as well as availability. Another reason I chose NCM is because after I requested an estimate they followed up right away. The other companies I inquired with failed to follow up on a timely basis and unfortunately lost business

I hate that this company isn't what it used to be. I hired New City Movers for a recent move to the suburbs. Big mistake. I was expecting the same great service that I received years ago, but either this company has been sold or the owners no longer care. They sent three stooges who literally packed my 60-inch TV but LEFT THE POWER CORD AT THE OLD PLACE IN CHICAGO!!!! Who does that?! They disregarded boxes labeled fragile and stacked heavy boxes on top of them. Ceramics that I've had for years, that survived moves from California and back were found shattered when I opened the boxes.
