We design landscapes where people connect to the beauty of the natural world, and redefine home to include nature. Through the process of design, we experience the landscape and its potential, testing it for balance, beauty and client expectations. A Rhode Island native, Kate Field received her bachelor of arts, with honors, in architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.

She then went on to receive a bachelor of landscape architecture with high distinction from the University of Arizona. In 1981, Kate started her own firm Katherine Field and Associates, Inc., Landscape Architects and Site Planners. She remains Chief Creative Officer and Principal of the firm with a talented team of landscape architects and designers.

Katherine Field and Associates has garnered numerous design awards and editorial coverage for its high-end residential, commercial and institutional work. Kate's philosophy is aligned with the mission of the firm- connect, enhance, sustain. In all of her designs she strives to connect the user with the space, enhance the beauty of the natural world and create spaces that sustain over time.

My heart skips a beat every time I pass by both terraces, you have transformed them! It was so much fun to go through the process with you, I learned so much and enjoyed every minute. Thank you ever so much. We have enjoyed working with Kate because she has such a unique ability to see the big picture.
The talented team of landscape architects and designers at KFA are committed to creating landscapes where people connect to the beauty of the natural world and redefine built environments to embrace nature. Katherine Field brings the heart of a gardener, the eye of an artist, and the discipline of an architect to each project the firm undertakes.
We do more than just gardens! We are trained to design and solve problems in areas that occur outside the building walls. We do grading, drainage, pools and ponds, walls and fences, masonry, metal or wood construction, lighting, furnishings, pergolas, arbors, planting, cutting gardens, fire pits, putting greens, tennis, basketball and bocce courts, and even schematic designs for small buildings such as pool houses or pavilions.

Never followed up. Asked for landscape plan and despite repeated phone calls never got anything from them.
