BrightLeaf has an excellent real estate team that helped us secure our first property. BrightLeaf is a homebuilder and brokerage, so it was very helpful having a team who knows homes help us when buying ours. We felt confident in the purchase and were able to discuss potential projects with his team so we knew what we were getting into. We came to Brightleaf with a full set of drawings. They gave us a rough estimate and then we signed a pre-construction contract to finalize finishes and get hard bids. They said we would start bidding immediately. They finally started bidding 3 months later and bids came in over 20% higher than they initial told us it would be. After 2 more months they finally said the reason was because when they gave us an initial price, it was not based off the drawings we showed them, it was just a price they could build us a house for. BrightLeaf is a diamond in the rough. They built us a beautiful energy efficient home that blends in perfectly on our Chicago historic landmark district street. I would not trust anyone else to pull this off. BrightLeaf maintains contact with us and is ready to help if any issues arise. They have a great warranty policy. We've been in our home since May '19 and couldn't be happier. We've done new construction once before, and BrightLeaf blew our minds with how much better their process is. Rick, Scott, and Jeremiah are fantastic and Brett making sure everything was done properly on site made this process easy. Best part is they came thru with their 1 year warranty promise and fixed any minor errors and settling with the house. If we move or build again, we're only using BrightLeaf.

Home building seemed like it would be full of pitfalls and regrets, but I'm fortunate and thankful to say it was just the opposite experience building with BrightLeaf (BL). Surviving the recent Chicago record-breaking cold temperatures, snow, and ice made us realize just how happy we are with our BrightLeaf home. While friends, neighbors, and family worried about frozen pipes and exorbitant utility bills, we were warm and snug at 1114 Stone Avenue. I can't say enough about our experience with the team at BrightLeaf Homes. They have a unique niche in the home building market with not only eco-friendly homes but modern, open concept that you don't see with suburban Chicago builders. From start to finish, this was such a smooth process with building a custom home. The entire process is broken up to phases and communicated through meetings and use of the mobile app. Their in-house professionals were always available for any questions. Building a new home (especially for first timers) can be stressful and this was anything but that.

Our BrightLeaf experience all started with a casual walk-in of an open house in Brookfield. The home was beautiful from the outside and we decided to pull over and take the tour.
