I got my 6' tub from J & K just over a year ago.
To me, this company clearly provides high quality cedar tubs. It is worth noting that it is beneficial to have some patience during the whole process. Especially in the Fall/Winter months… which is when I ordered mine. About the same time everyone else also started dreaming about their Winter hot tub lifestyle and placing their own POs.
I wanted project updates as frequently as I could get them. I probably borderline pestered the company with emails and calls. While I did not always receive responses right away, I did get responses in a fairly

I agree with most entries here that J&D Cedarworks makes a nice product with good materials. We are happy with our cedar hot tub. The process of getting it installed and operating properly was anything but pleasant however, and it wasn't until 3 months after it was filled and started that it finally was usable. The owner, Jason Wood, apparently enjoys working with wood and electronics but less so with people. I expect that when things go well he is fine to work with. But In our experience when there were problems and the system didn't function he had little consideration for us

Jason is so honest, accommodating, and stands by his product. I recently moved into a home that had a cedar tub that was installed by J & K and I couldn't figure out how to get the tub to heat. Jason called me after hours and walked me through steps to get the tub working - he was so knowledgeable patient and kind and kept mentioning that he was happy if his clients are happy. I'm so impressed with the professionalism and kindness with this company and feel lucky to have Jason in my corner with any cedar tub needs! I highly recommend this company!

Jason & Gail are great to work with. The tub is amazing. They even worked with my team to get it in to place up and over a large planter. They worked with my timeframe so I could get all my construction done and then put the tub into place. Jason even sourced additional cedar for us for the deck so everything matches. The only item I wish they had is a plan or chart for the electrical and gas needs so that we could have installed everything prior to their arrival.

The owner of the company, Jason, is completely and utterly incapable of running a business and he has absolutely no regard for customers or their concerns.
All he cares about is his bottom line.
As a homeowner of many different properties over the last 20 years, I have been involved in construction on all levels and even built and rebuilt houses alongside all sorts of contractors and subcontractors.
I have NEVER experienced a level of such incompetency from a business before.

This company is great. We added our order last minute and they fit it on the truck. Set up was in three series but each time wasn't a big hassle at all. Jason is super knowledgeable in all things cedar spas. Travis and Shane are some of the hardest working, down to earth dudes I've met. Super respectful in terms of our new COVID lifestyle. Always easy to get in touch for trouble shooting. Even helped us calibrate our spa to go a little hotter. The tub itself is gorgeous, smells AMAZING, and is the same price if not cheaper than a plastic tub the same size. Couldn't recommend enough

Jason installed a cedar tub for me last October and the quality of the tub is solid. Him and his crew are good craftsman and so far I am really happy with the work. He's running a family-run operation so you have to be patient especially with Covid making travel and getting into people's homes more difficult but all in all the final product is great. He's worked with me through delays and any issues we have had and worked to make things right and really seems to want to do a good job and represent his company well. I didn't have a ton of woodwork to do in addition to the tub

Jason and his team have done a great work. The quality of the product is amazing. Excellent wood and craftsmanship. We've been enjoying the hot tub almost every day and when guests come, the sauna is enjoyed by all. All of our guests comment on how great the experience is.

UPDATE: About a week after I posted my review, I received a text message from Jason, the owner at nearly 11pm. Understandably, he was very upset with the review that I left him. SEE ATTACHED IMAGE.

Craftsmanship on the cedar tub itself is top notch. We love it. Jason is great - came out for emergency service on a dark rainy Friday night, in December. Got us back up and running in time for birthday party next day. (Previous homeowner made changes that failed.) We'll be working with him from now on for regular maintenance and cleaning. It's rare these days to find people who will go the extra mile to stand behind their work the way Jason does.

J & K Cedar Works have been customer-service oriented from the start. Jason and his team were very responsive, and worked in wind and rain to finish our tub (and beautiful new deck) in time for a family visit. In particular, Jason was willing to address all of my questions and concerns (which were numerous) quickly and thoroughly, and worked with me and my wife to make the design fit our needs in every way. I highly recommend their tub as well as having them do the installation, as professional placement and plumbing of the pump system is by no means a simple matter. Thank you!

If you're looking for a high quality custom cedar tub, I highly recommend working with Jason at J&K Cedar works. We had very specific space/size constraints in the backyard and he was able to design the tub around the available space.
Onsite, the work was done in less than a full working day. He's a very friendly guy and was super responsive from the start. He has made himself available via text or call for any questions, including helping me over the phone to fix an issue I had with a UV sanitization system.

Jason and his crew are very friendly, professional people. Jason takes pride in the craftsmanship and quality of his work. He stands by his products and will help troubleshoot and answer questions after the purchase. The tubs and stairs leading up them are like works of art, definitely not inexpensive but so beautiful that it's worth every penny. I would not recommend this company. After spending nearly 6k to get a cedar soaking tub here are some of the issues.
1. Delivered to the wrong house and acted annoyed when we called to say we didn't get our tub.
2. Gave a box full of pipes without much explanation on how to install. No instructions about maintenance of the tub at all. Only a print out from heater company and uv light company. When we called to ask questions he was too busy to help. Indicated he could charge 350 per hour to come install a month later.
3. Tried to send an electrician to our house that was not licensed to do home

We have had our spa for a bit less than 1 year. We love it and use it everyday. Jason and crew rate excellent on service. We had a heater ignitor switch fail and he fixed it in less than 24 hours!! He also managed our filter system issue, bringing in a new filter again, within 24 hours. He is honest and reputable, deserving a 5 star rating.

I now have two handmade Cedar tubs from J&K Cedar Works, and I am considering a third for my luxury vacation rental...
Rarely do you come across this level of quality in both the product and craftsmanship!
I have also had excellent maintenance and service from them, as I live in Oregon where the shop is located.

This was by far the most worst decision I have ever made with a large purchase. Jason does not seem to realize that his tubs are an expensive product that require customer service and follow up. His mode of running the business is rush to install. Delay to fix what he didnt set up correctly until warranty is over and then tell you to go screw yourself. To say that this has been a huge let down and enormous waste of money is an understatement. Be warned! Do not purchase a hot tub system from J & K Cedar Works.

We got four tubs from them so far. Their tubs feel so much better than ugly blue/brown colored fiberglass tubs. They smell great and look great. The tubs blends in to any outdoor/garden landscapes perfectly.
It requires different kind of care but not necessarily higher maintenance compared to regular hot tubs. Jason, the owner of the company, is extremely helpful, answers to our questions and requests every single time.
I would definitely recommend their tubs if you are looking for a something different and low maintenance.

Our cedar tub is beautiful, SO fragrant, relaxing and located Mid-City Los Angeles, tucked into a corner of our terraced back yard, it is our escape and perfect luxury. What I love about having access to our own private hot tub is how easy it is to disappear for 30 mins, chill & get rid of the day, and guarantee a good nights sleep ahead. We of course use it as a cool dip pool too, LA has had relentless heatwaves, to rest in quiet, cool hydrotherapy, looking up at a couple of stars, while the gentle cedar aromatherapy envelopes, is AWESOME.
