In the Chatham County neighborhood of Governors Club alone, we have designed over 300 homes which embrace the architectural styles of Contemporary, Craftsman, French Country, Modern and Classical.
In addition to custom residences, we have also been involved in area historic renovations, major additions, total transformations and community development. Locally, our firm is the proud recipient of Best Architecture Firm award from Chapel Hill Magazine for 2020, 2019, 2018, 2016, 2015, and 2014.

We are passionate design professionals who are dedicated to making a space you will call home. Shaw Design Associates (SDA) was founded by Keith Shaw, AIA in 1995 and has since utilized their creativity, perspective, and design finesse in the creation of over 100 custom residential projects in the Triangle Area.

I have known Keith Shaw for over 25 years as a personal friend and now as our architect for a mountain cottage in Colorado. He has a customer-centric approach and is very personable. When he founded his firm in Chapel Hill in 1995, architect Keith Shaw was determined to build an architectural practice that would maintain the highest standards in design, construction, and client satisfaction. To this day, Keith relies on enduring design principles, client relationships, and collaborative teamwork to create architecture of lasting beauty and integrity.
Miho has been working for Shaw Design since 2008 and is currently a Project Manager for the team. Originally from Hendersonville, NC, she received her undergraduate degree from UNC Chapel Hill and interior design degree from Meredith College. In her role she enjoys space planning, meeting with and assisting clients throughout the design process, and the detail work that goes into creating meaningful spaces.

We couldn't have been more pleased with the services we received at Shaw Design Associates! Michael was always open to our suggestions and he always had several variations on those suggestions for us to consider. The handling of the drawings, coordinating with the builder and going through the town to get the permits were all done seamlessly and timely. I'd highly recommend Michael and the Shaw Design Associates to anyone looking for help with a remodel or new construction.
