Initial visit was great with Gene. Priced me out to fix fabric on my awning. He came in at about 1k cheaper than my original company that installed it. He was very responsive in the beginning and was the one to reach out to me to finalize dates. After the awning was returned and went to go back up, his professionalism took a turn. As he was putting the awning back up, he couldn't reprogram my remote to the awning. He tried to call the manufacture of the remote and was unsuccessful. He did the noble thing and said to take some money off his invoice until he can get it fixed as it was his incentive

Sundown Awnings recently installed a 10x16 awning on our deck in Long Beach, NY, and Gene (the owner) did a FANTASTIC job. On the day of the appointment he was on time and listened as we explained what we were looking for. He answered all of our questions and offered a few suggestions on a different approach - none of which impacted the price.
He gave us a timetable for the different stages of installation and they met every one.
Installation went easy and the clean-up afterward was excellent, you couldn't even tell a work crew had been in our yard

I am a returning customer of Sundown Awnings and I can honestly say that Gene is a very reliable and trustworthy person. I wanted to repair two large pieces of awnings: one A-frame awning and another one that attaches to the house, and Gene came by to look at it and gave me an honest opinion. Any other businessman would have pushed me to replace both but Gene said I have a couple more years left on one of the awnings. I ended up replacing the A-frame awning and repairing the other one. Custom Awning Service operated by owner Gene Henkel who takes pride in his work. Competitive pricing with professional product as a result. We had awning placed over a new backyard deck that had a complicated configuration and Gene managed to fabricated a beautiful area for us that feels like an extra room added on to our home. The work was finished ahead of schedule and adds tremendous value to what was already a pretty backyard area. This business owner exceeded our expectations and did a phenomenal job!
