When you burn wood in your fireplace or wood stove, one of the by-products of the combustion process is creosote. Creosote is a tar-like substance that coats the inside of your stovepipe, fireplace and flue liner that can be difficult to remove. Left unchecked, this creosote can turn into a hard glazed substance that can ignite as a chimney fire or buildup year after year restricting the flow of toxic gases from your chimney.
Gas fireplaces are much easier to use and maintain than a real wood burning fireplace, but they are not maintenance free. With regular use, your fireplace glass can get stained, give off smelly odors, and not run as efficiently as it once did. During the inspection and cleaning process, we disassemble the front of the fireplace to clean all the controls and glass along with checking the electrical connections, pilot, burn pan, and logs.

I first contacted another local fireplace servicing company and they just flat out never responded. So I contacted Total Fireplace & Chimney, and I am so glad I did. Troy was very responsive, professional, and showed up at my home on time. He did such a bang up job cleaning my fireplace, it almost seems like brand new. I am honestly glad the other place ignored me because I know I wouldn't have gotten as good of service as Troy provided.

Not really sure what happened. Our pilot light went out. Troy came out explained how the fireplace works and relit the pilot. He had said it might be the thermopile. The pilot light went out within 10 minutes and I called twice to tell him yes it must be the thermopile and he’s never contacted me again.

Troy was prompt, professional, and respectful of my napping daughter. He did a great job educating me on what the problem was with my fireplace and quick to resolve it. He was very personable too which made this experience delightful. Was very grateful to have found him. Would definitely recommend to use him in the future!!!

Guy does honest work, and communicates with you throughout the process. Let's you know when he's on the way, and doesn't mind to help explain to you the workings of your apparatus (gas fire place for me personally) should you care to learn more about keeping your house safe and apparatus maintained. Will be using him in the future for anything fireplace related no question!

Troy did an excellent job cleaning our chimney. He was prompt, protected the room and when he was done the room was perfectly clean. He even cleaned the fireplace glass!!
Troy also gave us a plan to determine how often the chimney will need to cleaned.

Very professional, and conscientious with his process. That to say, he tests out his vac outside prior to bringing it in to each job to ensure the filter doesn't pop in your home. He also calls to say when he'll arrive, and is easy to set up an appointment with..Top to bottom this was a great experience!
