Alex Babbidge brings a lifetime of construction management experience to his leadership of Babbidge Construction Company.
Starting as a laborer after high school and holding just about every position in the industry throughout his career, Alex founded Babbidge Construction Company in 1992 and remains actively involved with projects in addition to his responsibilities as principal of the firm.
Alex received a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University, an M.B.A. from University of Connecticut and studied Construction Management at New York University-all culminating into the unique toolkit of knowledge and expertise that he uses to successfully lead the firm.

At Babbidge, we believe that we have a responsibility to our clients, not only to provide a project of the highest quality, but also to provide it in a smooth and professional manner. As professionals, we must accept responsibility for the process as well as for the product. We are committed to providing the highest level of construction services from project conception to project completion.
We take the safety of our workers and the public extremely seriously. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, roughly 150,000 construction site injuries occur each year and we take all possible steps to ensure that none of them happen on our sites. We have an excellent safety record and have received numerous awards for our safety program.
Construction management is our preferred delivery method. As a construction manager, we can become involved with a project from the outset and provide our input and expertise on a myriad of issues, such as pricing, schedule, constructability, site safety, logistics, etc. It also allows us to work on an open-book basis and to really focus on understanding the specific needs of our clients and developing a construction program suited to each job.
General contracting allows the owner to be given a fixed amount for the construction of a project. This approach is best suited to relatively simple and straightforward projects. As the complexity of the project increases, a construction management approach often works better. We work as both a general contractor and a construction manager.
We typically provide preconstruction services as part of our overall construction management services. However, when appropriate, we are happy to provide preconstruction services as a stand-alone offering. We have provided preconstruction services for owners and architects in both the public and private markets on jobs ranging from $250,000 to almost $30 million.

Babbidge Construction was instrumental in the creation of my business location, The Well for Women. They were attentive to crazy amounts of detail, and were very informative and helpful in my decision-making. They probably aren't the cheapest, but their quality of work was fantastic.
