A year ago I had my garage spring "fixed" by First Garage Door. They quoted me a lower price, but upped it when he arrived. Even worse now I'm having to have the springs and opener replaced, because he used lower weight rated spring than what he replaced. Very frustrating and very dishonest in my opinion. Beware of using this Garage door company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Their reviews are fake! Yelp needs to investigate their reviews! They commit to time and NEVER show up! The phone operator is rude. The technician has been a constant no show. They lie about arrival time. When you call, they are eating lunch! They don't care about people's time. They work on their own schedule! Great service, called them they came out same day. My sensors weren't aligned (I tried adjusting them before he came but the lack of a light in one sensor made me believe a wire had come loose)
The tech realigned the sensor in a few min and only charged me the $19 service fee.
They did not gouge or upsell me which was what I was afraid for in getting 24 he service.

I just had my in person consultation with this company. The technician talked to my project manager and wanted $360 for a simple realignment of the sensors. Later, he lowered to $150 and was really pushy and demanded the money for consultation which was never communicated with me. He even said that he talked to me yesterday and I agreed to a consultation fee which never happened

I don't know what has happened to honesty and integrity in this country. I spoke to David at First Garage and he provided me with a quote of $495 to install a 1/2 hp Chamberlin Garage door opener. He said it was a competitive price - Nothing crazy.
So I did some checking.
At Lowe's they quoted $245 + tax for a 3/4 hp Chamberlin plus $129 install. Totaling about $398. The 3/4 hp was more than I needed.
At Home Depot, they quoted $198 for a 1/2 hp Chamberlin plus $87 install. Totaling $305.
So in one scenario I would have saved $100. In the other scenario I would have saved nearly

David provided a quick bid to us, same day. After reviewing 3 other local competitors, he came in a bit lower.
We decided to go with his bid because of price, feedback and delivery times. He was able to get it a few weeks before the competition.
The install took about 4 hours which included removal and new opener. He personally came by and inspected his crews work.
We did our diligence on this and are very satisfied and definitely recommend.

I reached out to 5 garage door companies for estimates. Several wouldn't even give me a quote through Yelp or phone. David from First Garage Door immediately responded with a quote and we were able to make a decision before he even came to our house. Their prices were the most competitive we found. Also, because our old door broke, we were thrilled they could do it in less than a week.
