In 2002, we built a new home outside of Chelsea on seven acres. The first winter nearly killed us with $700/month propane bills and so began the long search for an alternative heat source that would lower our heating bills. We had heard and read quite a bit about wood pellet stoves and corn burners, so we began purchasing and testing different products.
Chelsea Hearth and Fireplaces carries Electric, Wood and Gas Fireplaces from top rated manufacturers including Heat n Glo, Renaissance and RSF. Many of the most popular models shown below can be viewed in person at our showroom in Chelsea, Michigan. When you find your favorite, give us a call and we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
In prior years, Chelsea Hearth and Fireplaces has been able to offer customers high-quality, Made-in-America heating appliance fuels with wood pellets and Gren Heat blocks from Michigan's own Fiber By Products. If the situation changes, arrangements for fuel deliveries are available by appointment or customers may pick up their order at our separate fuel storage location.
Last year Chelsea Hearth and Fireplaces was pleased to announce the expansion of our custom hearth projects to include, not just hearth appliance installation, but complete fireplace remodels and new construction. This will eliminate the need for you to coordinate multiple contractors for your project as you will now be able to work directly with us for your entire project.
We service all brands we sell. We have access to replacement parts for all of our manufacturers, including parts for many units that are out of production. Service demands get very high in the fall and early winter each year. If you have non-urgent service issues or maintenance needs, your best bet is to get them scheduled sometime during the summer months.

Very disappointed - we need a new chimney cap, they came out and measured and said it would be a couple of weeks before the new stainless steel cap would be ready. Over two months later nothing has happened. We called a number of times and even sent an e mail requesting a date. Finally gave up and have contacted someone else to do the work. Poor customer service. If they didn't want to do the work they could have told us two months ago. now we might not be able to get the cap replaced until spring.

Drove 30 minutes to the store in search of a replacement log set for my gas fireplace. Upon arriving, I found a single employee intent on their computer behind the sales desk.
For several minutes I walked the store floor without being acknowledged. The employee finally asked if she could help me and when I explained what I was looking for, she requested that I email her the specifics and she would look into my request and get back to me.
I was somewhat taken aback by that reply, but considering she was still behind the counter on her computer, I assumed she was in the middle of another matter

We paid almost $200 to have someone come out and diagnose an issue with our gas fireplace. The tech was at our house for no more than 20 minutes (even though I was assured that the $200 would get us an hour of time including a cleaning if he finished diagnosing the problem before the hour was up). When he was done the tech told me that they would call when they had the replacement part ordered to fix the issue. No one ever called. After a month, I called them back to see if I could get an update and they told me that they couldn't find the part to order and our only option would be to spend $8

Spoke with Ron about getting my wood stove installed. He had me send over everything, stove type and photos of where we wanted it inside and outside. Never replied to my email or follow up email. I've called the office 4xs over the past 2 months (explained the same thing each time and that I've called and emailed previously and haven't revieved a reply) trying to get a follow up and have not received a call. My husband had the same experience last fall. Guess they don't want business?

Good location with a large amount of parking. Salesperson was friendly and informative and gave some demonstrations of the flame heights and colors of the electric fireplace that I was looking at. She answered my questions about how much it cost to run and how much space it heated. Also gave me pricing and her card, as well as hours that I could bring my husband back to see it. Store was clean and easy to look at all displays. I am pretty sure we will go back to purchase it.

My wife and I stopped in Friday the 25. We wanted to get there when they opened so we would have enough time to get the right fire place for our needs. Well that is not at all what this place cares about.when I said we are looking to get a wood burning insert the woman said,so your looking to do a complete remodle? No we answered. Then said told me that someone ran a gas line to my wood burning fireplace and to just cap it of anf throw wood in it. As my wife put it very argumentative and did not try to help us at all. An easy sale. We already new that the chimney would have to be charged out. But

I recently acquired a used wood stove and will be installing it myself. I ran into a few problems and called Chelsea Hearth and Fireplaces for help even though I was not their customer. The women who took the call asked a few specific questions and told me she would call me back. Within a few minutes she called me back and had another gentleman there trying to troubleshoot my problems. In the end they pointed me in the right direction. This kind of quality customer service is so important for a small business! I will be using them for all my future wood stove needs and recommending them as well

Great first consult visit, great bulk of the work. Jamming a practical wood-burning insert into a stylish-but-impractical mid-century modern fireplace is a serious undertaking, and Chelsea Hearth cruised through the hard bits, getting the wood stove itself installed and operational, and prepping the surrounding area to be covered with non-flammable tile.
Then... radio silence. Nothing for a week; called the office, nothing for another week; called again and texted, and finally got ahold of "Install Manager" Ron. Ron apologized that the final parts of the job had been "kicked

I have a small cottage and was getting a gas insert to help make the place more cozy in the winter besides having the convenience and beauty of an instant fire. I got two bids for the job and while the cost from Chelsea Hearth was slightly more expensive - the professionalism of the workers and the sales staff, the efficiency ratings of their stoves, and the aesthetic appeal of their units made choosing them the obvious solution.
During the course of the job I met four of the workers, they were capable, personable, and quality conscious. They did not leave a mess even when drilling through concrete
