Besides a tree being dead, there is a basic growth pattern to a tree. We all know trees require light to grow, soil and water. You as a homeowner can start by walking around your house, taking a look at the trees closest to the house. You should notice that most of the limbs on the inside of the tree are growing toward the house.

Walk up to the base of the tree and look up. If the actual trunk of the tree is leaning toward the house as well, the severity of that lean can help determine the possibility of that tree falling on your house. If the tree is not leaning to far towards the house, it should be either crotch dropped (topping technique), lower limb weight reduction or removed if necessary.

We believe that saving a tree is always the first option, but if the directional lean of the trunk and limbs are too close, then sometimes it is best to remove it, for your safety. Another thing you can do is walk around the base of the tree, look for mushrooms growing on the side, black carpenter ants and any obstacles (sidewalks, driveway, etc) that could have altered the natural growth pattern of the roots.
Services
RYAN TREE SERVICE, INC. located in Lilburn, Georgia and has been in business for over 25 years. We are a family owned and operated full-service tree company that services residential and commercial communities in the metro-Atlanta and surrounding areas.
In the tree industry, recycling at the level Ryan Tree Service does, is not an easy task. But it is one we have under-taken. In the recycling process there are many different steps you can take to really make a difference. The first is the most common, which is taking the logs from the trees we cut and take them to our lot where they are sorted by types of wood and taken to the appropriate mill.

We had four dead, dead, very dead big pines in the front yard. Not only were they right up against other hardwoods, but near the porch and close to the power/phone lines. We called and they came out a day or so later. Gave an estimate that was comprehensive, clear and thorough. They explained the precautions that would have to be taken. I have other structures in the yard, decorative items, etc. We moved as much as we could, but some have been there thirty years and aren't moving. The estimate wasn't cheap, but it wasn't the highest one we had gotten either. They had to bring in

I have called twice. Both times told by Dennis they they would get back to me. Been 3 days this time & this is not a time of year that they would be swamped. I have used them in the past & was very satisfied, but something seems to be happening as you can see with the negative reviews. Wish they would go back to treating customers in the way they would want to be treated.

They did a great job removing trees from my home and driveway after hurricane Irma. It took a crane and several loads, but they were able to get it all and even came out a few days earlier than they had originally scheduled. Every one was kind and professional and I really appreciated their good work. They worked easily with my insurance company and billed me when the work was complete. I would use them again and recommend to anyone. Thanks again Ryan's!

TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Had a great walkthrough with J.B., going into great detail. When the crew showed up, I was salty because I wasn't expecting a walkthrough again. Realized I was wrong, changed my attitude, and went through the walkthrough, including areas to trim lightly (over the roof) and areas for which they should come and get me.

Workers decided to ignore the details of the work order, took off 1/3 of my canopy, never got me to go over problem areas, then nearly came to blows over refusing to listen to how they screwed up.

Then the owner called to discuss, and didn't want to hear

I went with Ryan's because it was a difficult location, with tall hedges, power lines, etc. and liked that they had a crane instead of a climb-and-drop method. First estimate was missed-but I was home when they said they came. OK. Move on. Job was to be done, logs stacked curbside for pickup the next day, all sawdust and debris cleaned up at the end of day 1. Result: Trees were cut without mishap. Not even a flower stomped. OK. Why 2 stars? Logs and plenty of debris left on lawn for 5 days. Killed the grass underneath. Same with wooded location. Hedge destroyed (forgiven, location was tough

Started out good...went south VERY quickly!!

The salesman Dennis was very professional and knowledgeable while providing the initial quote. I had two mid sized trees that i wanted removed from my front yard and sidewalk area. He explained that the tree cutting would take one day, and they would come back the following day to do the grinding.

While talking to Kelly (receptionist / office person), I asked could they completely remove / pull up the tree in the sidewalk area so as to plant another tree; a maple. She said yes, so I booked the job and scheduled the work to be done on Thur and Fri

Could have been a five star review but I am writing this as I look at the tree lying in my yard. The web site says you don't have to pay until the job is done. Should have heeded this advice. As I paid them the day they took down the trees, they said a truck would be by for the large oak tree in a day or two. That was a few weeks ago. I have called twice and get the same excuse...we will get to it. I suspect if I had withheld pay it would be gone already. Other than this and a communication issue when they could not make their originally scheduled tree removal date, they did a great job.

We had a bad experience with Ryan Tree Service on March 15, 2016 when they cut down three of our trees. After damaging the one remaining tree in our front yard with the crane, leaving a stack of logs on top of a flower bed for a week, leaving holes in our yard and not returning my phone calls, they finally came back in June to talk about it. We were very disappointed with their sloppy work, questionable safety practices and poor communication. The owner promised to deliver some topsoil to fill the many holes and trenches in the front yard. After phone calls to the office and the owners cell

Ryan came right out and gave us an estimate and we scheduled a tree to be cut down the next day. No one ever came. We called the next business day and they said they could come out the following day. No one showed up. We called again and they rescheduled and again they didn't never showed up. We found someone else to do it. We remained polite and attempted to understand miscommunication, etc. Maybe our $350 job wasn't big enough for them.

Awful experience. Called on a Tuesday and set up an appointment for Thursday between 4:00 and 4:30. By 6:00 nobody had shown up and I called and left a polite voicemail asking if we had miscommunicated, left my number asking for a call back. Never heard a thing, left work early to be there, very frustrating. It must be nice to have a business doing so well you can ignore potential customers.

Honestly, these guys rock! A thunderstorm made a very tall tree crack from its base and begin to fall right over my roof. Luckily, another tree was on the way and stopped the tree from actually hitting the house. However, the falling tree was still leaning and threating to hit the house. I called three companies to get estimates for getting rid of four trees including the tree that was leaning over the house. Ryan Tree Service gave me the lowest estimate. They also made a good effort to respond quickly given the threat of the leaning tree to continue falling. A crew of five showed up with

I just had several extremely (10) large Poplar and Pine trees cut down in my yard and Ryan Tree service did a very nice job with this project. They were friendly, timely and cleaned up afterwards.

I would definitely recommend their services. This is my first house and I had so many trees that my large front yard was in complete shade and while that thought sounds great, its not for the grass or plants that require more than an hour or two of sun. So this was a blessing!

My experience was great and if I need anymore trees cut, I will use Ryan.

Last year I ordered firewood from this business and I'm still waiting for it. I ended up getting it from someplace else. This year I tried again. They told me that it would be delivered in two days. It's been three weeks now and I neither have wood nor have they returned any of the three calls I've place to their office. Very unprofessional. I gave up this year again and ordered it from someone else who said they would be here in an hour with my order. Now that's the way you should do business.

We had several large trees (about 13) cut from our yard. Ryan's did a great job. They were here at about 10 am and were finished by 4 pm. The crew was friendly and very task oriented. The trees were close to the house so they had to pay attention to detail when cutting them.
The whole experience was great from the estimate to the results. The guys with the company are nice and friendly. The prices are not bad. They carry some really good insurance so they are mid ranged for pricing. But they do a great job. So far I've had them come to the house twice and I'm saving up for them

Get these IDIOTS off the streets

Just saw a truck hauling a trailer behind it run every stop sign in a residential area and then blow through a cross walk with pedestrians using it. They had to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. The driver just kept going...HE WAS TEXTING ON HIS PHONE!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THEM AND MAKE OUR STREETS SAFE!!!!!!!!!

Work was scheduled to be completed on a Tuesday; they arrived and were very rude to me, stood around for most of the time they were there watching work next door instead of doing the job they were being paid for, 1 guy out of a team of 5 actually did the work while the others stood around. Worked for 30 minutes and said they didn't have all the equiptment and would have to come back the next day to complete the job. Took 2 days for them to come back and then they still did not complete all the work listed on the contract! My husband left them 5 (FIVE!!!) messages and never got a phone call

We just got a 100 year old dead oak tree cut down by Ryan Tree Service. They were amazing. This tree was hanging over our new tin roof and they took down the tree without touching it. They were here for 3 1/2 hours, cleaned up everything, even raked the fallen leaves, cut us up firewood, and they will be returning with the mulch. Best price out of 4 estimates. All very professional and obviously experienced. I highly recommend this company. We'll have them back for some other trees on our property soon.
