Tor Chimney & Fireplace

John and his team are absolutely fantastic! They completely renovated two full stone fireplaces, custom made gorgeous caps, fixed cracks and grout work from heavy use, and were able to remove a smoke smell from the fireplaces. Tor was professional grade, clean, respectful and super hard working - it seemed like his team treated our chimney's (and home) like their own. The scaffolding that Tor had to use was amazing to fix our chimney's and they navigated our roofline and exterior like true craftsmen. We can't say enough about John and his team - they are true experts, true masons - like old school

Impeccable service. Use of high end technology camera made me feel very secure that the chimney inspection was done properly. Cleaning was done quickly with no mess. I have used 2 other chimney sweeps in the past and neither compared to the quality of work performed by Tor. Highly recommend and I am now a repeat customer.

Our "new" gas fired fireplace had not been used in 20+ years. We made an appt with Tor Chimney, Chris arrived as scheduled, checked over the entire fireplace, inside and outside, explained its proper use, answered all of my questions. A complete report was also provided summarizing what was checked. The fireplace works perfectly and was used that night.

Tor helped upgrade our inefficient and messy wood fireplace to a gas fired work of art. They quoted a fair price and stuck to it with no up charges. Not only was the job done incredibly well, but encountered some real problems (the builder hasn't constructed my chimney safely). They fixed everything and left us with the centerpiece of our living space.

I called to have them come out to get our non -working fireplace up and running. They came out two days after the call. They were great with communicating, prompt and professional. They were able to resolve the issue quickly and after 7 years, we finally gave our cozy room! Highly recommend them!

Tor completely rebuilt our 30 year old residential fireplace which had seen a lot of use. Refurbished the exterior stucco, and installed a new steel flue and Ahern firebox. The workmanship is outstanding and the workers were so friendly and reliable! A lot of work but worth it to have a safe and brand-new chimney!

We are so happy with our two fireplaces. They work well and do everything we need a fireplace to do. Our fireplace space was small and Jonathan worked to help us choose the right option for our space.
Beyond the initial installation, we have received excellent service. Unfortunately at one point a minor part of the fireplace mechanism failed. Thankfully, Jonathan quickly came out within 24 hours, inspected the fireplaces, identified the issue and solved the issue.

Was referred to Tor by a neighbor for a chimney repair quote as well as converted the fireplace to gas... it took me and my husband 2 MONTHS of excessive phone calls to get the quote back!! Then once we did, it didn't include the conversation of fireplace. This was also after he charged us $250 for a chimney sweep during the appointment (was not expecting this)-- and if we used him then that money would go towards the work he did... Needless to say, we did not use him!

We used Tor to help us get the existing gas fireplace up and running in the town home we recently purchased. Jon's assistant, Chris, showed up on time for our scheduled appointment, and even called minutes before his arrival to let us know he was on the way. He was polite, knowledgeable, and very helpful to us in explaining how our fireplace should work. Unfortunately, later that day, we had difficulty igniting the fire...the fireplace just wasn't operating properly. The next morning I placed a call to Tor and left a message explaining the problem. Within minutes Jon returned my call

Spent the last month begging John Tor to get me the quote he promised for chimney repairs on my property. Its coming, im sorry, etc. 10 days ago I kindly asked him to just man-up and tell me if he wasn't going to provide me with a quote, and i would bring someone else in...can you imagine I should have written him off then. Now still no response after telling me I'd have the quote tomorrow (9 days ago!). Stay away-irresponsible, poor customer service. Be warned

Professional, courteous and incredibly knowledgeable! John provided us with digital photos of interior and exterior chimney exam and took the time to explain all of his findings. They will be my go to for all my future chimney and fireplace maintenance issues.

I can't say enough good things about Jon. His work speaks for itself! He did an amazing job removing our old half-wall brick fireplace and built this new fabulous stone one as well as the mantle! He is truly a Renaissance Man. He explained everything he would do and followed up with his estimates. He was extremely knowledgeable, meticulous and easy to work with. He also provided sample materials for us to review and made useful suggestions.

Tor hit the trifecta. Cancelled my first appointment, no show and no call for second appiontment and doesn't return any of my phone calls.

Top quality work. Jon knows what he is doing, and I trust his work to be safe. My only issue is that scheduling follow ups was somewhat challenging

We hired Tor Chimney to inspect and clean our fireplaces. Jon Tor, the owner, arrived and was on time, courteous, and extremely patient with all my questions. He showed me what he was doing, and talked me through the video of our chimneys. He pointed out what was in good repair with no need for work, and where current or potential issues were. We talked about options for repairs, and he made recommendations but did not in any way push for a sale or additional services. Recommended.
