Allen Pools & Spas was founded in 1957 by Dan Allen Sr. who was working for the State of Vermont as a Registered Civil Engineer. He was contacted about designing and building a swimming pool for the Girl Scout Camp at Tammarck Notch in Mendon, VT. He agreed and built his first pool. He was then contacted by a few more people that had purchased pool kits and hired him to install them.
Realizing the potential for a thriving business, he started selling and installing in-ground pools all over Rutland and Windsor counties. Even after building thousands of swimming pools, Dan Allen Sr. never learned to swim a stroke. In 1958 we opened our first retail store on Woodstock Avenue in Rutland, VT.
Dan Allen Sr. built in-ground swimming pools and tennis courts in the summer and sold peanuts and cashews to local bars in the winter. Two years later we moved to a temporary location in Center Rutland while construction of our new retail facility was underway-our existing Rutland store. Our chemical business began, bottling our own swimming pool shock into one gallon containers.

Everyone is so friendly and knowledgable. They genuinely want to help you and make sure things are right and go well. That's refreshing. Mary is awesome! I have problems regulating my hot tub chemicals and she is right on top of it. All of the crew is. So happy I have them helping me since my hot tub is therapeutic and not just for pleasure.

After having a shockingly poor experience with a dealer very close by I ended up coming here to Allen Pools & Spas. The two gentlemen that greeted me at the door were very friendly and helpful. After sharing my story with them I was able to gain allot of knowledge about the hot tub business. While they did not have the hot tub I wanted in stock and was a long time out I decided to shop on line for a used tub. I found a one year old Hot Spring tub that I really liked. Drove to NY and brought it home with us. Considering this is the product Allen Pools carries I went right to the store. I can't support

Staff is super personable and knowledgeable! We were unsure about the purchase of a spa. We have had our hot tub for 2 1/2 years. We have enjoyed it immensely nearly every day or night. I believe it is helping me at nearly 70 years of age, to feel younger and more agile. The staff at Allen Pools has been wonderful in teaching us and supporting us when needed. I highly recommend them and their products. We did a lot of research before we made a decision, both online and talking with other people who owned hot tubs. We haven’t had a moment’s regret.

Bought my tub tub a few years ago here and had zero issues. This week I thought it died. It stopped working and could not hold temps. Jay on the service team and Mark in the field came to the rescue and made my day. They came out in less than 4 hours. Turns out it was just a simple filter unit clog. Back in business. Best news I had that day. Thanks guys!!!

Met with Dave a few months ago and asked if he would match the deal the guys down the road we're giving me. He confirmed that he could. It took me about 3 months to save up for my down payment and I didn't speak with Dave at all during that time even he reached out. Long story short, Dave kept his word and promise on the cost of the tub while the other guys went back on our negotiated price and raised my cost by a grand. Dave Bristol from Allen Pools is the man! We took the time to compare the different areas dealers and we went with Allen Pools and Spa simply for the fact that they have an onsite service department and I felt comfortable working with Kevin.
In the installation of the unit Kevin took the time to stop by and do a site review and when the unit was placed, quick to follow up. The only hiccup in the whole process is the seemingly random failing of a pressure switch which caused the unit to lose heat and the water to drop into the 90's.
