It may be as simple as pumping the tank out. If the tank has become overly full, waster can sit in your plumbing lines and form a clog. This can lead to an overflow into your home or office. You may need a professional plumber to snake out the lines in addition to having the tank pumped out or emptied.
A septic tank system uses natural processes to treat and dispose of the wastewater generated in your home. It typically consists of a septic tank and a drainfield, or soil absorption field. This septic tank provides the first step in treatment. As wastewater flows into the tank, the heavier solids settle to the bottom to form a sludge layer, and the lighter solids, greases, and oils float to the top to form a scum layer.
An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure! Committing a little attention to the care of your system can help to avoid the nightmare of a failing system. Assuming that your septic system was properly located, designed, and installed according to state codes, you are now in the driver's seat for the care of your system.
In order to maintain your system, the tank needs to be accessible for pumping and the drainfield should be protected. Locating your system is not always an easy task. If you do not already have one, contact your county health department for a copy of your septic system permit, which will indicate the approximate location of the system and the size of the tank.

Based on my initial conversation with Amy.....I look forward to doing business with this company. As a property manager of several properties in the area, I do look to other professionals from time to time, that have specific expertise in other areas to help maintain our client's interests. In this instance, Amy took the time to give me additional information necessary so that I can make an educated decision and help my client. So far, I'm super happy with the interaction with this company.

JL Smith installed a new septic system (drain field, tank, pump) at my house two years ago. I just noticed today that the pump was shorting out when plugged into the outlet. I called JL Smith and left a message. They returned my call promptly and said a technician would be at my house shortly to look at. The technicians showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, and fixed it within an hour. The showed me their fix and did not try to up sell me anything. They had to dig up some grass but they dug it up properly without destroying it so that it could be laid down again. I highly recommend

I hired jl smith septic tank service to install a septic tank and help draina wet lot. He installed the septic tank, no problems until it rained...then flood thru the garage, he agreed to put in 3 drains to pump the water out. He never finished the job. He started the job just before Thanksgiving and it is now in February 8th and He only returned my phone call once saying he would be there to take care of it. I called him and his office several times more and got no response, I then emailed him and again no response. I feel I deserve at least a phone call and an explanation. I dealt with
