S and L is the vision and creation of father and son duo Louis and Steven Lopez. An LA based small business that specializes in custom woodwork. Making things like furniture, shelves, mantels, home goods, entertainment centers, and wall treatments. Basically anything with wood you've seen on the show Fixer Upper.
Although really close the two are both very different people. Family members say Steven showed signs of artistic talent even at a very young age. In a story told countless times his parents recall the time when as a toddler he covered an entire wall in crayon. This "mural" depicted an airport scene complete with a jumbo jet and a massive crowd of passengers.
They were understandably upset at the time, but also a little amazed. For him creating and working with wood is an ideal creative outlet. Louis started woodworking as a teen in woodshop class. He always enjoyed it, but It was the bookcase he made from solid black walnut that really hooked him for life.

S and L made a doll cabinet for my daughter to play with in the living room. We do not have to lug this doll house up and down to her room as it mirrors family room furniture. She can sit and play there for hours and simply closes the door once she finishes, no clean up necessary. S and L helped in the design and this came in on time and under budget for Christmas. A great family business that custom designs furniture from aged and often recycled wood. Give them a try, you won't be sorry.

Had them build a built-in bench/cabinet with drawers for shoe storage. Drawer fronts were different sizes, drawers slides were awful, toe kick was higher than we had discussed and most importantly the drawers were so short that I couldn't even get the drawers to close with my 7 year olds high tops (forget about my adult shoes). I overlooked several other imperfections in the work as as they weren't material, but I've reached out several times to see what they can do to fix the drawers and they simply won't respond.... would not recommend using them. They knew the main purpose

Steven was such a pleasure to work with. He's an awesome woodworker and a person to do business with. I've always had ikea furniture, but when my wife & I moved into our new home, we knew we wanted furniture that you couldn't find at any random store. With the help of Steven & his dad we were able to have a beautiful dining table as well as a gorgeous bed frame built for our home. Steven was super thorough and communicative.
Through his knowledge & years of experience, we were able to bring our ideas to life. I wouldn't recommend anyone else in LA when it comes

These guys deserve 10 stars! They turned my Red Oak top from a dream to a reality. Steven was very responsive via email and allowed me to personalize the design with children-friendly Sharknose edging and a specific stain/gloss combination. It was constructed rapidly within a few weeks with pictures tracking the build process. Finally, Steven and Louis came to my home to personally ensure the fit was perfect. They are professionals and artists - I am overjoyed to have a wooden composition that I am proud to literally be the centerpiece of my home.

Had a table made by Steven Lopez a few years ago when starting dental school and moving to a new location. He made a very beautiful table that I was incredibly happy with. It was my favorite furniture I have had, and it was for a very reasonable price.
I would recommend anyone to purchase from Steven, he is a true master of his craft. I have received compliments from people about his table. He even delivered for me!

You were great in college but now that I'm a little bit older, wiser, taller, and a baller...I need something more stable in my life...literally!
I had just moved into an apartment to be closer to work and realized there was absolutely NO counter space in the kitchen to prep any food! I did attempt to look at Ikea, Target, Wal-Mart, etc...and couldn't find a tall, long table to fit in my kitchen. Decided to get a quote from S&L and figured I had nothing to lose.
The price was right (I may have lied in the beginning of this review; I'm nowhere near being a baller

Amazing work! I got several bids for shelving in my laundry room, and nobody was as thorough, great to work with and knowledgeable as this team. And their prices were great. Beginning to end, working with them was a wonderful experience. They delivered on time, installed perfectly and even agreed to hang a few cabinets while they were here.
I found them through a friend who hired them to do gorgeous reclaimed wood shelves. I can't recommend this business enough.

Amazing work! I was looking for a t.v. stand but had not been able to find the right size. S & L jotted down a few notes on what I was looking for and came up with the perfect piece! They delivered, installed, and even carried my old furniture piece down the stairs to the garage. I would highly recommend this company!
