Due to the extreme heat and windy conditions within the Las Vegas Valley it's recommended to have your chemicals balanced and pool cleaned weekly throughout the year. If a pool is left for longer periods, baskets can fill up with debris quickly and pool water can become unbalanced. The four main tests to perform with a test kit are pH, Chlorine (or other sanitizer residual), Total Alkalinity and Calcium Hardness.

Avoid Pool Star! They took over cleaning my pool 3 months ago after 8 years without problems. The first cleaning went well. But they added a PoolRX to my pool which I’m told from various site that it can stain your white plaster blue due to chemicals. Before when things would break they were suggested for fox now they stay broken until I bring them up. The worst of all for the past month I have been unable to use my pool due to incredibly strong chemicals. My pool was drained last year. No reason to be having these issues.

I use PoolStar for weekly pool maintenance. The pool always looks amazing and their communication and service is stellar. If they need to adjust which day they come out, I get an email. If they notice I need additional maintenance, I get an email with a quote. They have not missed ONE appt in over two years and billing is done efficiently online. I was always chasing my last service to be sure they even showed up! Poolstar is professional, communicative and good at what they do. Highly recommend!

Amazing pool service! Quick and beyond efficient! They even responded to me during the holiday weekend and gave me a date to start. My pool has never been this clean! I had a bad experience with my previous pool service. Her negligence caused one of my pipes to expand and then burst. Half my pool drained into my neighbors yard. The pipe had to be replaced and wasn't under warranty because it was human error. The valves had been turned in the wrong direction and the pressure continued to build up until the pipe burst. We had two horrible experiences with pool service ‘companies’ before a neighbor recommended Pool Star to us. I told him about the pool service company that attempted to defraud us by not servicing our pool, but whose scamming tech took a photo of our filter as ‘proof’ that he cleaned the pool. By the time I ran down the steps, he and his co-defrauder were nearly in their vehicle. I told him that he was busted for attempting to defraud me. I told him that I saw him enter our backyard, take the photo and leave. I won’t give the name of that ‘pool service’ company here.

Our first time using a pool service, and after less than a couple months, we're very impressed. It's so nice to longer have to worry about cleaning our pool. The only thing we do now, is run our vacuum if we get high winds in between cleanings. Kevin and Cody are both very good at getting back to us if we have any questions or concerns. We actually got a referred to them, by a Kevin's friend, that is in the same business, but were out of his service area. Thanks Pool Star, for taking such good care of our pool ! After trying to take care of our pool ourselves for almost a year, when we started to see too much green, we gave up and contacted Poolstar. They have been a great company to work with and whenever problems arise they let you know your options and take care of it quickly. Sometimes I had problems finding something I needed at the pool store (and usually bought the wrong thing first), when I asked our technician about it he said he'd bring it there next time and they just charged my account. Great service! Highly recommended! My pool always looks amazing when they leave!

I've been a customer of Poolstar for over 2 years. Kevin and his crew have been servicing both my pool and my sister's pool during this time. Kevin is without a doubt the most conscientious pool service provider I've encountered over the years. On the rare occasion there's a problem he promptly has one of his techs take care of it. I have been a customer of PoolStar's for over three years. Prior to hiring them, I had bad luck with other pool companies which got to be expensive. Kevin, Cody, Barbara, and their pool techs are so professional, reliable and kind. They have never disappointed. I think what has been so critical is their preventive care and lookout. I always recommend them and currently have them servicing four homes in my family. If pool-related services are needed that they don't provide, they give recommendations to other vendors who are great, too.

My pool was built by a very reputable local company with the very best reviews and they did an amazing job. The company they used to start up the pool after installation is Poolstar. I had Poolstar taking care of my pool for almost 2 years, I had just moved away from Henderson and my previous service company was already fully booked for the season, I gave Kevin a try. I had never met anyone from Poolstar, as I had the house rented as an executive rental. I needed someone to just reliably show up weekly, take care of the pool chems, make sure the equipment was well cared for consistently through the seasons and this company did just that.
Honestly, it was such a relief to have one less thing to worry about with this rental home. It was just taken care of.

I'm a new customer of Pool Star. Although I did incur one initial large expense, it was only because that it seems everything in Las Vega lasts only 12 years at the very most...lol....Especially things that are outside and or powered via energy. So, my tank and cartridges were the originals and 12 years old.
For better and or worse I understand that owning a nice pool and spa can be costly at times and we all pay to enjoy them. I can only speak for myself but in this climate I'm incapable of taking care of the pool on my own and making sure chemicals are correct on a regular basis.

One good thing about these guys - they do communicate well. However, I feel like if they aren't going to get that extra buck out of you, they will move on.
Some detail:
I had 3 issues needing fixed. Just to be totally upfront.
1. Mesquite tree- issue brought up - I paid my landscapers to remove but it took me about 2 weeks.
2. Pool pump - broke under poor supervision of previous pool tech (it was installed brand new 10 months prior under HIS service. Then it got plugged up, and my tech did not repair it, and therefore it failed.) Bought and installed a brand new pump again - but i bought

Had same issue as another reviewer, inconsistent pool servicing. Some weeks 20+ minutes including tile scrubbing. Other weeks in and out within 5-10 minutes tops. 1 week was so poorly serviced that I could still see a thick brown layer of dirt on the top step and wet deck when I went outside 15 minutes after he left.
Another inconsistency is with their scheduling. Had them for 7 weeks now, and the company has rescheduled our cleaning day 3 times already.
They claim to add muriatic acid as needed in order to keep our pH levels in the ideal range, but I have never seen them add acid. I work from
