My wife and I had a great experience building our home with Buffum. They have a very detailed process that helped us address all of our questions along the way. The interactions we had with all the people involved in the construction of the house were very positive. Building a home is a stressful process but Buffum helped significantly reduce that pressure with a detailed plan that helped us stay on track with the decisions we had to make.
Buffum Homes has a no-hassle financing option available so that you don't have to mess with getting a construction loan. The only thing you have to think about is the mortgage at the end of construction, and we have lenders we recommend for the most competitive rates who really understand every individual's situation.

Nathan has been in the home lending business for 20 years and has an extensive knowledge in FHA, VA, and Conventional Lending. Nathan specializes in helping the first-time homebuyers navigate their way through the home buying process. As an independent energy inspector I'm impressed with the attention to detail paid in every facet of construction; from air sealing to insulation installation quality.

After visiting with several local builders, we selected Buffum Homes to build our new home. Norm, Josh, Rich and team are a complete class act. They brought our custom design to life and we could not be more thrilled with how everything turned out.
Buffum also took the reins in selling our current home. Again, more than satisfied with the results.

They built us the most beautiful custom home. Our forever home. Great attention to every detail. From start to finish. Outstanding communication. The businesses used by Buffum Homes were carefully vetted for great service and attention in every aspect from the outside materials to the interior. Their construction team built us custom features for our home. Such craftsmanship. We could not be more thankful. Building was during the beginning of the pandemic and they did everything to assist to complete as much as they could during the shutdown We could have not been more satisfied with everything

While living in the opposite side of the state, my husband and I started looking for homes in the Grand Rapids area. We worked with Norm as a realtor and he helped us find the perfect home, and was able to get us the best deal based on what he saw while we toured the house. His experience as a builder gave us better insight on red flags to look for while looking at homes. Norm went above and beyond to help us get everything in order, even while we were living two hours away. It was a great experience to work with them!

Buffum Homes went above and beyond trying to make a property currently under construction fit my clients needs. They discussed many options prior to contract signing. My clients budget and time frame just didn't fit with the balance of the build out. I would definitely recommend Buffum Homes and their team. Their builder standards are upgrades for many other new construction homes. You will NOT be disappointed!

This company has been such a pain to work with. I will say they build beautiful homes, BUT after living in one for a few months, it is obvious how cheaply it was built and how Buffums cut corners where ever and when ever they could. If this wasn't bad enough, they are horrible at honoring the one year warranty. Good luck getting them to respond to emails and phone calls. We've talked with neighbors who have also purchased homes from Buffum and everyone has the same complaints. Spare yourself! Horrible, horrible company.
