A family owned and operated company, Whitmore Custom Homes is the realization of the lifelong dream of three Michigan brothers. Our lives took us in different directions after college where we each honed a unique set of skills and grew to be successful in our own careers. We then realized that our three separate careers would combine perfectly to fill a need within the residential building industry here in West Michigan.
Today, as we continue to highlight the builders nominated for the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids Awards of Excellence, we have three brothers with us, from Whitmore Custom Homes, Ryan, Brett and Nathan. The Awards of Excellence program recognizes Parade home builders in a variety of categories; Best Kitchen, Best Floor Plan, Best Curb Appeal, and Best Interior Elements in the various price ranges.

Whitmore Homes by far one of the best custom home builders in West Michigan. The attention to detail is given all the way through the project. A lot a builders can make a home look good when they are done, but what is going on behind the walls and in areas you can't see. Not only do Whitmore homes look good when they are finished, the behind the wall systems are done with high quality. I highly recommend them!

Once we decided to build, all my husband and I heard were comments about how difficult and stressful building can be. However, that was not our experience with Whitmore Homes! From the beginning Nate Whitmore was excellent at keeping the lines of communication open. All of our questions and concerns were readily answered throughout the project and even upon completion. We were very pleased to work with all of Whitmore's sub contractors, particularly their designer. She was great at understanding what we wanted and offering up suggestions within our budget. Whitmore helped us build a quality home

We recently moved back into our home after an 8 month addition. Working with Whitmore on our project has been such a pleasure and could not have gone any more smoothly. I think in a project as important as building or remodeling your home, communication is key and Ryan was amazing from the beginning, working on our plans and original estimates, to the end after we had moved in. Any phone call or text was responded to literally within minutes and we always knew where our bottom line was. I recommend Whitmore without an ounce of reservation!

This is our 3rd home we have built, and we have heard many horror stories of building a new home. We have fortunately never had any of those experiences. We were reluctant to go with Whitmore, because the three "boys" seemed so young. We really wanted to go with the builder that built our last home, but schedules did not permit. They were very involved from the beginning, starting with our purchase of a lot that we thought may pose some building challenges.
