Rick was respectful of our home (child present) & completed the a/c repair the same day, getting parts locally. We are grateful, no interruptions of our day working from home. He's very professional. All I can do is praise Rick and his work ethic. We realized at 4 p.m. that we were getting hot and uncomfortable even though our A/C was turned on. I checked the thermostat and it was up to 80 degrees. I called Rick, he called me back within 5 minutes and he was at our house in an hour after finishing up a job he was working on. He not only figured out what the problem was but explained to us what had happened. He corrected the problem and voila we had cool air. He showed us how to help maintain our A/C system. Rick is professional and a life saver. After calling 3 a/c companies and everyone saying they didn't have time for us Rick said he would at least stop by on his way to another call just to see if he could help. You know it is bad when the ac guy walks in and says "wow, its hot in here." After looking at the machine - we learned it was the motor that needed to be replaced. UGH!!!! There's a reason why Rick consistently gets 5 stars. He serviced our A/C last week in Porter Ranch and was not only punctual, but his passion and professionalism were just beyond impressive to my better half. Our 14.5 seer unit was installed in 2010 and I just wanted preventive maintenance for the first time to prepare for the summer; and while most technicians would've said you "need this and that" to get a little more, Rick did a full diagnostic exam and said our unit was "good to go" and nothing additional needed. Our air conditioner was running nonstop but the house wasn't cooling down. I gave Rick a call and he came out that afternoon. He was knowledgeable and friendly, explained everything to me as he worked, which I appreciated. He fixed the problem in addition to cleaning the filter which I had no idea how to do! And the cost was reasonable. Rick is now my go to hvac guy.

Rick saved us on a 100+ degree day when our AC stopped blowing cold air. Not only did he tell us to turn our unit off and stop trying to get it to work, or we would bust the entire system, which was incredibly helpful to these newbies, but he was able to squeeze us in the next day to come take a look at our system and run diagnostics. Exactly as he had suspected, there was an issue with the capacitor and he replaced it that day. thank goodness our house became cool once again.
What I was most impressed by is he called me back on a Friday evening past 7:00 PM, and he squeezed us in on a Saturday

Had a referral to Rick so I wasn't sure how things would go. Everything went amazing, start to finish! I love that he communicated when he would be here and then was able to come early (under-promise/over-deliver). He was quick, friendly and had the part so he could do the job same-day. My AC was struggling a little bit with this recent heat and humidity, so I called Rick out to just take a look. I was fearful that (as is the case with many repair companies) he was going to give me the worst case and most expensive scenario. My AC started blowing warm air last week...not good! I knew it was the original system in my house, built in 1982, so I figured it was time. I am a Real Estate Broker and know all kinds of service vendors, but I will never use anyone but Rick at RK Mechanical for ANY of my heating and air conditioning needs. Rick came out on a very hot day when our air conditioning failed. We were expecting an expensive repair. He was right on time, gave us our options and fixed it on the spot. I have gone through three companies in the last nine years for AC and Heating needs. Two years ago I met Rick, we found our guy! Seriously, one of the most knowledgable mechanic I have ever met.
