We began over 30 years ago by offering area rugs from some of the most influential names in design, and to this day, we continue to partner with creators from around the world to enrich our extensive and innovative selection of rugs. In addition to offering a broad range of authentic designer rugs at discounted prices, we've been globally importing rugs for more than 30 years, building relationships with vendors from countries on four continents.

Designing a new project requires you to make a lot of decisions and can become a lot to handle. Planning the space, arranging the furniture, and deciding which color looks the best with the flooring in your room are all aspects we take into account when helping you select a one-of-a-kind rug. At Modern Rug Importers, we don't focus on mass-produced rugs. Our love for rugs comes from pieces that are truly original, where each design, each color, each pattern is unique and like nothing else you've ever seen. We have the largest rug collection in Southern California, with two vast locations showcasing the thousands of one-of-a-kind pieces we own.
The length of delivery varies based on your shipping address. Orders processed will typically take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days based on the shipping menthod seleceted at checkout. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email. We ship all of our rugs via UPS ground shipping.

We reached out to Modern Rug Importers & told them we needed to replace a fairly large area of wool carpet. Monsour arrived at our home in a few days and guided my wife and I through the process of picking the right carpet and giving us sound advice on design & color. The carpet took a few weeks to ship. The installation team couldn’t have been better. They were polite, punctual, worked clean & put the furniture back precisely where it was. We were very happy with the service we were provided. We really didn’t know what to expect and quickly found out that we were looking for a jute rug. We looked at some different designs and took two homes that we thought might work. We then decided that the color blue and beige would be ideal for our room.
One of the challenges we ran into was that we needed a 12 foot rug by 3 feet wide and no one made it in those measurements. I was told we needed to order a 12’ x 9’ rug and they would cut it for us to the dimensions required. It left us with two runners upstairs in the hallways as well

Modern Rug Importers is great! They have a huge selection of Persian/Designer Area Rugs in fantastic color schemes. They make sure that you are choosing the rug you want! I initially bought on and took it back the same day because I did not like the color I chose. No problem, took it back right away and we found a rug that was perfect for the room. Shout out to Modern - Mansour and his assistant are super! This kitties just love the new rug!
