I found Shannon Williams online searching for gates in Santa Cruz and the photos of his beautiful gates did not disappoint, in fact out-distanced my expectations. I appreciated that he was easy to work with in choosing the gate design and his workmanship and knowledge was superb. We were very satisfied with our selection of Shannon Williams as our contractor and would highly recommend.
After months of planning, we recently began a total redo of our front yard. Part of this enormous project included replacing fences and gates. We contacted Shannon Williams and, after meeting with him and discussing various designs, decided to work with him on the gate replacement. The gates Shannon built for us are truly works of art and have become the crowning jewel of our yard redesign.
His attention to detail is incredible and the end result is absolutely beautiful. We found Shannon to be very responsive, honest, and fair. His work is absolutely impeccable. We would recommend Shannon Williams without hesitation and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Services
Williams gate works provides custom, high quality gates for all residential and commercial applications. I start with the finest quality wood. The three most common woods used to build my gates are clear heart Redwood, Western Red Cedar, and Mahogany. I also use reclaimed old growth Redwood for many of my gates as well.
Epoxy is superior to glue in every aspect. Besides the fact that epoxy is many times stronger than glue, it is also highly waterproof and resistant to changes in temperature. The mortise and tenon joint coupled with marine grade epoxy actually makes the joint become stronger than the actual wood itself.
In the case you have an existing rectangular opening, you must measure the horizontal distance of the opening between your existing posts, columns, or walls, and determine the required height of your gate. We will determine gate dimensions and tolerances based on this information. They do not, however we can recommend general contractors in certain areas whom you may contact for such work.
Thank you for visiting Williams Gate Works. We value your business. If you have questions about a custom gate or gate hardware, please feel free to contact us Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Forward a picture of the style gate you are interested in and type of wood (does not need to be a gate from our gallery).

Shannon Williams wowed us at every stage of our gate project. He created a realistic time schedule and stuck with it. He listened to our goals and happily combined two styles of gates to best coordinate with our house. He ably guided us through hardware selection. And, most importantly, he crafted, delivered and installed an exquisite set of gates.

I highly recommend Shannon and Williams Gate Works. I was looking for a custom gate made and after searching the internet found Williams Gate Works. If you are looking for a master crafted wood gate look no further. I sent Shannon a rough draft picture of what i wanted along with the dimensions and presto- I received a beautiful gate hand crafted out of African Sapele that adds the custom look that i was hoping for. Exceeds my expectations. Thank you Shannon!
