Discount Insulation Company was established in 1981 by Tom Gonzalez, a former home inspector. Over the years he gained a reputation for reliable service to ensure quality insulation and work. This is shown by the exemplary years on Angie's List. In 2018, Stu Ferguson became the new owner of Discount Insulation Co.
Attic insulation is the most important area to upgrade in existing homes. The building code in the early seventies required only 4 in the attic (R-11). Today's requirement is up to 15" of fiberglass or 14" of cellulose. Yes, cellulose has more R-value per inch and cellulose provides 100% coverage vs. 80% coverage with fiberglass.
Like all other parts of your home, maintaining crawl spaces, your attic, garage ceilings and walls are important and overtime can impact your wallet. While small uninsulated spots in your home can be minor, adding these spots up can measure to be as large as a watermelon. You would never allow a watermelon size hold to exist in your wall.

We used Discount Insulation Company to insulate a small section of exposed pipe under the addition on our house. We dealt directly with Stu, who was extremely knowledgeable, professional and responsive — he even worked hard to squeeze us into his jam-packed schedule to help take care of our needs before it gets super cold out. Not to mention - they are very reasonably priced! Highly, highly recommend.

We used this company to install new insulation to our basement ceiling. My house always felt cold due to inadequate and improperly installed insulation in my basement. We found Stu and his team to be very informative, professional and easy to work with. They did an excellent job, and they were done in one day. Stu and the team did a PHENOMENAL job!! I’m beyond impressed with his responsiveness, customer service and workmanship. He also found some additional problems with our house and fixed them even though they were not on the quote. I wish all contractors operated like Stu and the team. We recently decided to pull the trigger on redoing our attic insulation and ultimately chose Stu and Patrick at Discount Insulation. First, Stu seemed to be the most genuine, meticulous and kind out of the three people we received quotes from. Second, he was the only one that offered what we wanted, which was blown-in cellulose. Cellulose has very good insulation properties, is environmentally safe and is easy to remove if needed for any maintenance or work. I researched reviews before reaching out to Discount Insulation. I read many great things about this company...all totally justified. Stu was so flexible is scheduling the estimate on a day and time that worked for me. He quoted me different options which I really appreciated. His price was the best of everyone. There was an urgency in my job because my house is on the market. Although he was booked out for a couple months, he was able to squeeze me in earlier. i am very happy with the work that they did. highly recommend and would use him again without a doubt.
