Since 1964, the Garden Center at Rockelman's Nursery has been York's "go to" place for quality plants and knowledgeable customer service.
Our Heritage Tree Farm in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, a 50-acre farm of ornamental shade and flowering trees, grew out of owner John Rockelman's love for beautiful trees. Since 1995, when the first trees were planted, the farm has grown from a wholesale operation to a retail business, offering homeowners an opportunity to pick the trees that will look best in their home landscapes.
Planting a tree yourself can be a very rewarding experience, especially with some research and planning prior to purchasing a tree. We have included some information for the do-it-yourselfer here on our website: tips on selecting a tree, a step-by-step guide for planting, and recommendations for care after planting.

We knew we wanted to plant a few trees in our yard, but needed help planning. Ben came out and drew up some great ideas and gave suggestions on what would work where. We then met him at the tree farm, which helped us see the big picture and choose exactly what we wanted. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome! He and his team did an amazing job. Their customer service is top-notch and work was done in a timely manner. I’ve already recommended Rockelman’s to a few neighbors who’ve complimented our yard since the work was done. We plan on using them again for future needs.

Super happy with the guidance and feedback we received at the nursery. They had a solid selection of trees on hand and will be delivering our choices to our home in a few days. Delivery is $50; planting can also be provided based on the size of the root ball (minimum $150--delivery is free with planting).

I've purchased mulch from Rockelman's this year and last. It's more convenient and easier than buying a ton of bags. The second time there was a mixup, and I did not get what I expected, but they eventually rectified the error. I wish the customer service was a little quicker, but once I got a response, they fixed the mistake quickly.

Had some time to kill in York and my husband suggested just stopping to walk through. We ended up with some terrific ideas for a new tree at the corner of our garage, and purchased a dog wood tree for our front yard and 2 Japanese painted ferns for a shaded spot we were trying to fill. The guys were very nice and professional and knew their stuff. Made great suggestions and were not pushy at all. We will definitely be back!
