Since opening in 2004, Turnstone Custom Homes has grown from a local trim installation company to the Premier Custom Home Builder in Coastal Delaware. From Broadkill to Fenwick Island, our homes and quality glisten along the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay. Turnstone Custom Homes has built over 200 custom homes and major renovations.
Ideal candidate will have 10+ years' experience in custom homebuilding and/or renovations. Must be fully computer literate, able to multitask and work well under pressure. If you want to be part of a cohesive team and be respected and rewarded for your accomplishments, Turnstone is the builder for you.
Depending on the complexity of your home this could require three or more live or virtual meetings. Our designers will present initial conceptual designs, starting an iterative process between you and the design team, working toward a design that reflects your vision for your new home. Once the design is just right, you will sign off to move the plans to engineering or, if appropriate, directly to the creation of construction drawings.
What makes a home "Custom"? Most people think about things like quality materials, high-end appliances, exquisite trim details, high-performance insulation and an exterior facade that radiates quality and attention to detail. Actually, "custom" is all those things, and so much more-and, for this reason, it requires more, both from the builder and from the homeowner.
For most people who build a custom home, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. One factor that deters some from building a custom home is the impact it will have on the rest of your life. There aren't many things more exciting than watching your life's dreams take shape before your eyes. But it is also a daunting undertaking for most people.

We engaged Turnstone to renovate the first floor of our Rehoboth Beach home. Harvey Ryan and Mike McDowell developed a plan to turn a dark, dated, columned abode into a bright, open, modern home. Their ideas were brilliant and the results are fantastic. We are hoping that the final results of our kitchen will also prove impressive.

Turnstone Custom Homes proved to be the best choice to build our new home in Lewes, DE!! We were more than impressed at the way the leadership team managed the building of our dream home, from our first planning meeting to moving in. Our project manager, Morgan, did an excellent job of coordinating all of the various trade partners to keep us on schedule. I don't write many reviews but I felt compelled to write one for our home builder Turnstone Custom Homes in Rehoboth Beach. When it came time to design and build our custom beach home in North Shores, we really had no idea of the enormity of the undertaking. It is one thing when you already have a home designed or at least have a good idea of what you want. Ours was a blank sheet of paper, and the range of home styles that caught our eye was very diverse at the outset.

I recently experienced a persistent leak in my Dewey Beach home. The leak appeared to be coming from a deck over a living space at the rear of the home. I asked Turnstone to look at it for me. They first attempted some minor patches to see if that would solve the problem at minimal expense to me. It did not. Then Turnstone brought in the A-Team, led by Senior Project Manager Morgan G. He also took an iterative approach, again trying to stop the leak without doing a lot of demo and spending a lot of my money. It didn’t work. The home is older, and it was time to tear stuff out and get to the bottom

After interviewing several local builders and receiving three proposals, we selected Turnstone Custom Homes to build our Rehoboth Beach home. Their price was not the lowest, but the proposal was complete and we felt it offered the best value. My experience with Turnstone Custom Homes was unusual in that my interest was not in building a beach home for my family, but rather as a speculative investment for a partnership I manage. I was aware that the property market in Rehoboth and Lewes was strong and sensed an opportunity.
