We use the highest quality products known in the industry for the highest performance at competitive prices. Unfortunately for homeowners, being certified is not a state or federal requirement; however, Judd & Son excels at providing the highest quality of service to each and every one of its customers.
As recommended by the Code 211 of NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) all chimneys including furnace chimneys should be inspected and serviced by a Certified technician yearly. There are three levels of a chimney inspection. A Level I inspection (visual inspection) is what is performed in most homes.
We use VENTINOX chimney liners and THERMIX chimney insulation from Pro Tech Systems, Inc., to reline fireplaces as well as furnace chimneys. Pro Tech Systems has been the leader in venting technology since 1982 when they introduced the first UL Listed flexible chimney liner. Judd & Son has been awarded the Superior VENTINOX Dealer Award of Excellence for six consecutive years.
Tuckpointing is needed when the mortar between the bricks starts deteriorating. We deep grind the old mortar and replace it with new mortar between the bricks or stones, matching the mortar for a uniform look. Judd & Son has the best equipment in the area for tuckpointing. Tuckpointing is highly recommended to prevent more costly repairs in the future as deteriorated brickwork weakens the integrity of your chimney or other structure.

Had J&S come out for a quote to apply heat shield for my fireplace. The employee was very stand-off-ish about using this product in the first place. He stated that they barely ever use this product because it does not last-bare in mind, I have done my research on it and it has great reviews and a lifetime warranty. My neighbor had it done 2 years ago for approximately $2800 through Albert the chimney sweep. Additionally, he never ran a camera up to even evaluate my chimney to see if I needed any additional work done or even to just look a the health of the chimney shaft. He said the quote would

I would not recommend this company Judd and Son Chimney Service, Inc. due to the fact that after they installed the new chimney at my house, the chimney started leaking and caused major water damage at my home that I have never had before. They failed to replace the chimney flashing after they removed it to install the new chimney and after we had heavy rains, the chimney started leaking and we had severe water damage. When we had our old chimney, we never had problems with severe leaking like we had after the flashing was removed. It was careless of them to remove the flashing and not replace

Great customer service! The lady who answers the phone/schedules service is great and will do her best to get you service as promptly as possible. Prices are fair. The service people who come to the home are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, and not at all arrogant, and some service people can be. Their competitor, the Stove Shop, does not answer the phone or return calls, and breaks promises as to when they can come to you house. Judd and Son is the way to go! It shows they care about their customers.
