Master's degree in teaching with an emphasis in Biology and Chemistry at Drake University, Des Moines, IA. Additional course work in Biology, Spanish and music at Central College in Pella IA. Prior experience in the military with the army, national guard and a wealth of lifetime experiences including additional honors, memberships and training too extensive to list.

My personal life includes my wife Kathryn, which is also the most memorable day of my life when I met her, we are very excited about the recent arrival of a little family addition. Away from work I enjoy spending time with my wife, doing some fishing and research Plant Health Care, unknown to most I am a biologist by training.

When all efforts to preserve a tree have been exhausted, it can be necessary to remove a tree. Tree removal is recommended when a tree is dead, dying, or considered hazardous. Trees may also need to be removed to allow for construction, crowding and causing harm to surrounding trees and plants, or causing an obstrution.
You are more than welcome to be present while we work at your property but you are not required to be on site when work is performed. Our crews are provided with a work order stating the services and job specifications contracted by the client. Most clients are not home during business hours. We are fully insured with commercial general liability, automobile liability and workers compensation and employers' liability.

The folks from Diederich Tree Care were a pleasure to work with. They returned my phone calls promptly, showed up when they said they would, and answered my many questions. Their arborists are very knowledgeable and compassionate. When they came to remove the tree, they were very professional and friendly. They kept me informed at every step, talked through options with me, and cleaned up well when they were done. I highly, highly recommend them.

Very professional and reasonably priced. Had them cut down two big dead ash trees, one was 10 feet away from my house and the other was in an alley 5 feet away from my garage and on my neighbors fence ( why that tree was there i have no clue???). They cut both down in one day. When i got home from work i couldnt even tell they were there. Everything was cleaned up, no saw dust. So anyway, i was very happy with the work and would highly recommend!

What a great company! They know trees (and solutions to "tree issues"); they were prompt; and their high quality equipment got the job done quickly, safely, and cleanly.
We have a small farm and have lived on it for 4 decades. We love the trees in the large yard, and know that they provide important shade for our house and beauty to our place - but for years we deferred maintenance on them because we were busy, because we thought we'd get to it ourselves, etc.
This winter we took a look at many of them and realized they had dead branches, splits, and an ash tree that looked like it might be succumbing

Slater D absolutely professional. Highly quality work. They may not be the least expensive around, but absolutely worth the price knowing you have a quality team behind you and great value for the price. Our project was >100 trees to clear a lot for residential construction. Many pines over 75 years old and > 50 feet tall. Some leaning towards neighbors houses, over lake, etc. After talking to Slater and seeing his results, never a worry. Worked well with neighbors (on their own, washed ash off neighbors house after burning brush), great communication, hit every deadline. Used them 2 times. Would

Slater and his crew have cleared our driveway of snow for the past couple of years. We couldn't be happier with his service. Always timely, and professional and careful of our yard. Our driveway is a weird shape and they actually get out of the vehicle and shovel the areas the plow can't reach! No one has ever done that for us before. If I could give them more stars I would without hesitation.

Slater and his team have worked on our land for several years to maintain the health of our 40 acres of woods -- as well as trimming branches to improve our views, beautiful landscape work, and preparing firewood for winter heating. We couldn't be happier with their work. Top level professional knowledge, keen aesthetic sensibility, and strong work ethic. Highest recommendation.
